Had the strangest dream last night after I fell asleep sometime after 5PM. I've always had a weird feeling about this house I moved into about 7 months back, and the dream had me going through almost a maze of sorts, having to escape my house and ended up in a abandoned stairwell with weird step layouts.

It was incredibly bizarre; the architecture was brutalist in nature, with windows that led to foggy, dark skies with a infinite darkness below. This was definitely not my house anymore. I felt like a Minotaur running through the labyrinth of the ruined palace of Minos.

I woke up listening to a video about the book House of Leaves, and frankly, its a great book I've listened too before, and what was probably inspired my dream. But I couldn't help but feel tense as I woke up, like I had just lived some twisted warped reality, some version of my house that FELT real but could not have been.

Anyway, I wont devolve much more into it, it was a bit more involved than that, as these dreams have happened periodically over my life ever since I've taken a listen to that book. and alot of that hinges on my mental health of sorts so it isn't really worth devolving into here.

For anyone wondering I'm okay, not too shaken up really. This is just kind of the norm.
My cousin Sara lost her fight with cancer last night. This one's for her.

Feeling generous? I might even throw in a carbon fork & wheels—turning this into the 'Hi-Fi RTX Edition' of bikes!"** (Ultra-smooth, ultra-fast!)
but this will cost around, 9070 "legacy American technology"

What bike is it? Sounds pretty impressive but no discs = no buy.
You know you've hit 'that' age when the young persons lingo and slang starts to become lost on you. I sometimes have to go out of my way to educate myself. Well, at least they arent calling me a.. whats the word.. "unc?" (wouldnt be far off, I am a uncle)

Hey, I only got revived once. And I went out pretty dramatically. Pretty worth it honestly. Plus I'm the fusion of 2 other guys now.

I mean even then you're still pretty old regardless. Even Kami was 700-800 years old.

Welp the Lazar cloning software worked but Samsung Magician wont read SMART codes and wont authenticate the drive either meaning that its a fake bootleg drive. Im going to send it back for a refund. After so much headache.
After waiting 3 days for it to complete ONE JOB and it not budging from 50% completion. I gave up. Turned it off, put it back in its box and its going back to amazon for a refund. Inspected the cloned SSD on my desktop. partitions are all there. sizes are correct. data used is correct but my laptop wont boot from it despite me initializing it in disk management. I'll have to find a different way to skin the cat.

Oh, that's sad. :(

Sure, the tool could be faulty, but you said you tried cloning the drivers in software with just as little success, right? Maybe there's something wrong with one of the drives?

I wiped the drive and transferred some big files back and forth a few times. The Samsung seemed fine. Smart data on the Kioxia checks out. There is nothing wrong with either drive. Using a free app some youtuber recommended atm. So fingers crossed it does a proper clone

I can’t take Sheo seriously like this, gib back classic Oblivion Sheo where his beard was part of the face rig due to limitations, looked cursed.
On a more serious note, he is supposed to have grey/white hair, no? Is this just a lighting issue?

Lighting is a bit weird, but he does have grey/white hair in the remaster. The quote though, it hits way too close to home

FinFET dissident here – holding out for affordable used GAAFET chips before 2030.

Sold my "planned obsolescence" PC to future-proof my budget, aiming for that "wow effect" with an entry-level GAAFET rig in a few years. Goal? Play one specific game on max settings, then flip the system afterward.

Will FinFET chips just spontaneously combust at some nebulous point in the future or what? This is one of the most unhinged takes I have seen recently on TPU, which is saying something since we have some absolute psychopaths here.

A used bicycle will do. If I need a blunt opinion to cut through the marketing hype, I’m okay with that. Paying too much for a toy doeasn’t make you a better person.
Since when does giving sound financial advice make people target your personal flaws?
Aren’t corporate marketing machines just cornering you into a tight spot—herded like sheep with their brand of pop psychology?

FInFET to bicycle is a pretty big leap.

Perhaps you should hang out with some friends and family. Maybe have a drink and relax. You sound like you are wound up a bit too tight.
How's that 4070ti doing? I never settle until I know these things are working in their new home.
I've been rocking for like a month or two with the 3060 and an arc a380 at the same time.. I have to say.. intel really needs to improve their drivers installer lol.
I can't deny using AV1 for recordings is very nice and using my 3060 to stream in 1440p@60 HEVC to twitch is even better.
It has both gpus running at pcie 4.0 x8 and 2 nvme's. Very nice I used an x570 board instead of a B one.

SSD cloning with the new thingymajic is taking a rather long time. I may need to just call it a day and go with a fresh and dirty reinstall of windows.

@avidgamer121 Currently testing out a free program called 'Lazesoft Disk Image & Clone'. came across it via folks on YT trying to do the same thing as me.
Hi, i'm The Intel/AMD/Nvidia Guy, i joined on January 29, 2025 and i not have much activity here as i view other websites and also because of school tasks that mean that i not have much time here.
Still in bed recovering from my second cancer surgery on April 24th. It's been a real roller coaster ride so far but my doctors gave me more and far better pain meds. I get the prognosis tomorrow afternoon. I have computer things that need to be done but know from distant past experiences that even though I want to do them that it's far wiser to not touch any tools or electronics at the moment. Fuck cancer.
Might be getting a whole new PC soon and will be my first AMD PC as well. Might be getting the AMD Ryzen 7 3700X 8-Core, 16-Thread 750W PSU the rest not sure as I am not making it. Long story :pimp:
Am I nuts for entertaining the thought of spending $450 for a gently used RTX 4090 Matrix? :kookoo:  :kookoo:

Might have to think about it now, as I just checked my PSU's product page on Amazon and my Corsair RMx 1000x is the 2021 model, so it doesn't have the 12 pin connector. I'd have to get a different power supply if I ended up going for the Matrix.
Scattergrunt
Scattergrunt
As long as the 12 pin is fully inserted, you should be okay. No guarantee of course, but just don't bend the cable & connector too sharply or anything and it will probably be fine. Doesn't mean its a good connector though..
Gmr_Chick
Gmr_Chick
True that. I think that connector needs to be either done away with completely, or redesigned from the ground up.

Alternatively, I did stumble upon someone selling TWO Sapphire TOXIC edition 6900xt's (but was willing to sell them separately) that my current PSU would be able to plug into no problem (card uses 1x 6 pin and 2x 8 pin connectors)
Hello Pawlnrg!
I have two HP Zbook G2 and a HP 8570W. All of them have a low end Quadro card. I bought a Quadro K2000m card, and tried to install one of the Zbook, but I get black screen.
I tried to install the K2000m into the 8570w, but the same black screen. Also if I tried the k1000m of the 8570w into the Zbook, then also black screen.
Is that bios error? How can I solve this problem?
