Logitech's G Pro X Superlight 2 Leaks Ahead of Launch

It appears that Logitech is getting ready to launch its first revision of the G Pro Superlight which simply gets a 2 in the model name to differentiate it from the current model. The G Pro X Superlight 2 is getting a new Hero 2 sensor that is said to feature a 32,000 DPI sensor, suggesting it might be capable of tracking at over 500 inches per second (IPS) with 40 G worth of acceleration. The USB report rate has also doubled from 1 kHz to 2 kHz, which at least in theory, means reduced input lag.

According to Winfuture who leaked the G Pro X Superlight 2, it will also get up to 95 hours battery life, a 25 hour improvement over the current model. Logitech is also said to have shaved off a further 3 grams of weight, although the G Pro X Superlight 2 is by no means the lightest competitive gaming mouse around. Another and most likely more appreciated feature improvement that the weight reduction, is a move to USB-C for charging, something Logitech has been slow at adopting compared to many of its competitors. The biggest downside of the new model seems to be the expected MSRP, which according to Winfuture will be somewhere between €160-170, with the current model going for €139 in Europe.

Logitech Retiring Blue Microphones Brand, Gaming Line Absorbing Yeti + Snowball Mics & ASTRO Audio Gear

Logitech has announced the merging of its microphone and audio equipment brands - their G Gaming Twitter account posted about this decision yesterday, and directed customers to a question and answer session on the official subreddit: "Where do you get support? How will ASTRO, Blue and LFC integrate into Logitech G? Will there be new ASTRO products? Get your questions answered with our official FAQ." A brand manager has since confirmed (via a fan query) that the Blue brand is getting nixxed: "We will be keeping the Yeti brand and moving it under Logitech G. The Blue name will be used to describe our technologies." Logitech spent a cool $177 million when it acquired Blue Microphones back in mid-2018, so it is odd that the company has chosen to drop a very recognizable and popular brand name in the worlds of podcasting, streaming and audio recording.

News outlets have discovered that Blue has been removed from the brands section of Logitech's website, and the Bluemic.com domain now directs back to the parent company's main online presence(s). The Logitech G sub-page has been updated with listings of Yeti, Snowball and other microphone models. A brand manager also outlined ASTRO's future: "(it will) continue to live on as a premium console audio product series underneath the Logitech G brand. Stay tuned for more information regarding ASTRO including a launch that we think our community will be very excited about...We're (also) very excited about ASTRO as a product series under Logitech G."

Today, Logitech International introduced a desk booking service that delivers a better hotdesking experience for employees and a greater ability to manage shared desks across multiple locations. The service runs on Logi Dock Flex, a fully-featured managed docking station built for shared desks in flexible work environments. The move to a hybrid work model has given companies the opportunity to reassess and optimize their office space. But the hybrid evolution has also introduced the challenges of motivating employees back to the office, and the need for data and insights to understand space configuration and continued investment.

"Businesses know they have to earn the commute to get hybrid work employees into the office. The answer is not to add more foosball tables, but to instead offer a way for employees to plan their in-office days together," said Scott Wharton, general manager of Logitech B2B. "We took a multidimensional approach to building Logi Dock Flex that not only solves desk booking and management issues, but promotes social collaboration and gives IT and workplace managers data on how the tech and space are being used."

Alleged Logitech G Pro X Hyperlight Wireless Gaming Mouse Appears Online

Logitech's competitive "G" gaming brand released a short teaser video on Friday (May 19) that alludes to an upcoming next gen product - with a cryptic message: "Built with Pros. Made for you. 05.24.2023." Gaming mouse enthusiasts were quick to leap into speculation mode and predicted that Logitech is set to reveal a successor to the G Pro X (GPX) Superlight (weighing in at 61-63 g) wireless gaming mouse - this model and its (sort of) predecessor 2018's Logitech G Pro Wireless (GPW) have been widely adopted by competitive multiplayer gamers. Others have tempered expectations, and reckon that a new lineup of gaming-oriented headphones is incoming.

The GPX and GPW models have topped mouse popularity charts consistently for the past four years, but hardcore FPS-heads have long wondered when Logitech would eventually catch up with the likes of Razer in terms of cutting-edge sensor and wireless technology. A retail listing on China's online shopping platform, Taobao, has seemingly broken Logitech's (intended?) teaser marketing method - leaked images show a new wireless model called "GPRO X Hyperlight," along with an alleged unit weight of 49 grams, a 35K Hero Sensor, an 8 Khz LIGHTSPEED wireless polling rate, and Lightforce hybrid switches. The Taobao page has since disappeared but the information has been preserved and shared on social media and Reddit. Debates have raged about the authenticity of this leak, so the images and spec details should be taken with a grain of salt.

Logitech Partners With iFixit to Advance Circularity Goals

Logitech International announced today that it is partnering with iFixit, a global repair community that sells replacement parts and provides toolkits and repair guides for consumer electronics devices. Logitech is working with iFixit to facilitate the availability of spare parts, support beyond-warranty repair on select products, and develop relevant repair guides to support this repair.

Global electronic and electrical waste (e-waste) is projected to grow to over 75 million metric tons by 2030 according to The Global E-Waste Monitor 2020 Report. Design and repairability will need to go hand-in-hand in order to reduce the amount of e-waste the world generates. The growing e-waste challenge is fueled by higher consumption rates, short life cycles, and few repair options. Logitech is working to address this challenge by elevating its repair capabilities to increase the life-span of Logitech devices, Design for Sustainability (DfS) and drive more circular business models. Essential to Logitech's product development process, DfS plays an important role in informing design decisions, including those around repairability, refurbishment, and recycling.

The Brio 300 series (Brio 300 and Brio 305) are Full-HD 1080p webcams with high dynamic contrast, auto light correction, and a single digital microphone with noise reduction, so users are seen and heard clearly despite poor lighting and background noise. With a reliable meeting experience every time, users can join video calls feeling confident and engaged. The webcams connect to computers through a USB-C port, making it simple to join video meetings. Logitech Sight AI Camera Makes Hybrid Work Meetings More Equitable for Remote Participants

Today, Logitech announced Logitech Sight, an AI-powered tabletop camera that works with the front-of-room camera Rally Bar or Rally Bar Mini to intelligently capture the best perspective of meeting participants and track conversations as they move around the conference room. In today's hybrid work landscape in which 43% of remote employees report not feeling included, Logitech Sight helps solve the disparity between hybrid teams by giving remote workers an "at the table" experience when meeting with in-office colleagues.

"We're no longer all at home in equal-sized video boxes like we were during the height of the pandemic. In a hybrid work world, a mix of in-office and remote workers increases the challenge of delivering equitable experiences to everyone," said Scott Wharton, general manager of Logitech Video Collaboration. "Logitech Sight, when used with Rally Bar or Rally Bar Mini, uses AI to tackle this problem with a model that is less Silicon Valley and more Hollywood—the art of using multiple camera angles and intelligent direction to bring remote participants off the sidelines and into the room. Our customers have told us that this is one of the biggest hybrid work problems to solve to make 'return to the office' work better for teams. We believe, based on years of research and early customer feedback, that we've cracked the code on this must-win critical problem for organizations of all sizes."
