Introduction

Let's face it, everyone knows about Corsair. If you don't, you are either new to this or a caveman that has never used a PC. Offering a wide range of products that cover just about every market segment, from system memory and power supplies to cases, coolers, fans, and even custom systems, you could say Corsair nearly does it all. When you look at what they have accomplished since being founded in 1994, it becomes obvious that they have come a long way. Talk about ancient history; time certainly flies by, doesn't it?

In today's review, I take a look at the replacement for Corsair's venerable H100i V2. Enter the Hydro Series H100i PRO. Just like the H150i PRO reviewed previously, this latest offering features an RGB LED illuminated pump along with Corsair's top-tier ML series fans. However, unlike its larger sibling, it offers better compatibility without giving up solid performance, something that made the H100i V2 so popular. That said, considering the stiff competition in the all-in-one liquid cooler market these days, it will be interesting to see where this particular model will land.

Packaging

The Hydro Series H100i PRO comes in an averagely sized box that measures in at roughly 30.8 cm long, 21.6 cm wide, and 15.2 cm tall. On the front is a full-color image of the H100i PRO with the pump illuminated in blue. More than a few features are also listed on the front, such as the Zero RPM fan profile and, of course, Corsair Link support, among others. The left side details the same features again with another image of the cooler, this time with the pump lit up in red. All the specifications along with the unit's various features are further detailed on the back.

On the right side, as you may have guessed, is another image of the H100i PRO. Other than that, there is nothing else of note to be found on this side. Moving on to the top, a quick summary of the unit's Corsair Link support is shown. Meanwhile, the bottom details socket support as well as what is in the box.

Contents

Like many all-in-one liquid coolers before it, the Hydro Series H100i PRO comes in the typical cardboard tray inside of a box with a sheet of foam on top. While I would prefer a bit more foam, the packaging has proven adequate in the past at preventing damage during shipping, which means I can't really gripe about it too much.

It goes without saying, but the Hydro Series H100i PRO supports all modern sockets except for AMD's TR4.

Common parts supplied for mounting include:
  • 16x M3 radiator screws
  • 16x Washers
  • 8x M3 short radiator screws
  • 4x Screw pillars
  • 4x Intel 2011 screw pillars
  • 4x Phillips head nuts
  • 2x 120 mm fans
  • 2x AMD screw clips
  • 1x User's manual
  • 1x AMD mounting bracket
  • 1x Intel mounting bracket
  • 1x Intel backplate
  • 1x Pre-filled liquid cooler
  • 1x Corsair Link cable
