I would like to thank Sharkoon for supplying the review sample.

The Sharkoon VK4 series is squarely aimed at the value conscious user, by trying to provide a bit of a different mix than others fighting for attention in that segment. On paper, the VK4 SKUs use are a solid, no-frills chassis with plenty of built-in fans and features that should appease those looking to build on a budget. As such it is no surprise, that Sharkoon has opted to only offer it in black instead but with two different fan setups. The simpler VK4 Rainbow with fixed color fans or the VK4 ARGB that allows you to control the hues, which is the one we are reviewing here today.

Packaging

The Sharkoon VK4 ARGB ships in a black and white box. The white is more prone to discoloration due to dirt and grime during the shipping journey, but will also stick out more on a rack full of boxes. On the larger panels you will find an image of the chassis with some selling points, while both sides list the case specifications in a total of 14 different languages. As there is only one SKU, the box itself is already explicitly branded for this exact case, as such no stickers or further identifying marks are needed.

Two Styrofoam spacers on the front and back of the case protect it during transport. This configuration makes sense, as it also fully covers the glass front of the case at the same time. A plastic bag has been placed over the case as an added layer of protection against scratches and fingerprints.
