The XPG Gammix S41 Tuf is a solid-state drive in the M.2 2280 form factor, launched in 2020. It is available in capacities ranging from 256 GB to 1 TB. This page reports specifications for the 512 GB variant. With the rest of the system, the XPG Gammix S41 Tuf interfaces using a PCI-Express 3.0 x4 connection. The SSD controller is the RTS5762 from Realtek, a DRAM cache chip is available. XPG has installed 64-layer TLC NAND flash on the Gammix S41 Tuf, the flash chips are made by Samsung. Please note that this SSD is sold in multiple variants with different NAND flash or controller, which could affect performance, the "Notes" section at the end of this page has more info. To improve write speeds, a pseudo-SLC cache is used, so bursts of incoming writes are processed more quickly. The cache is sized at 186 GB. Copying data out of the SLC cache (folding) completes at 179 MB/s. The Gammix S41 Tuf is rated for sequential read speeds of up to 3,500 MB/s and 2,400 MB/s write; random IOPS reach up to 300K for reads and 240K for writes.
The SSD's price at launch is unknown. The warranty length is set to five years, which is an excellent warranty period. XPG guarantees an endurance rating of 320 TBW, a typical value for consumer SSDs.

Notes

Drive:

The XPG Gammix S41 Tuf is basically a new design based on the XPG SX8100.
NAND Flash bus might opperate between 533 MT/s ~ 667 MT/s
The Gammix S41 line-up comes with only 128MB of DRAM Cache for all capacities

Controller:

This Realtek controller is a Hybrid controller, it supports DRAM Cache for storing Meta-Data, but also supports H.M.B. (Host Memory Buffer)
