actually there is no Asus tax. Asus takes these and publishes that as a marketing tool for itself (as all flash drive manufactures promote asus) and these flash drive manufacturers can boast with the certification themselves...it is win win.

I will try to find out what the price is suppose to be ;)

if the OS is portable, yes. you can get various portable versions of linux and windows (not legit/supported by microsoft) but its possible.

Odds are that it would be closer to 200 USD + taxes...

geizhals.at/deutschland/a566565.html the 64GB version costs 115€ including taxes...
