Square Enix Files "Tomb Raider Ultimate Experience" Trademark as Potential Promotional Material Leaks

A new rumor suggests that Square Enix is preparing to release a Tomb Raider game bundle, the supposed leak claims that the bundle won't just include the modern games but also classics from the 90s. The package is supposedly set for release on Steam, Stadia, Xbox One, Playstation 4, and Nintendo Switch, the promotional image also carries an August 27th release date so if these rumors are true an announcement from Square Enix can be expected in the coming weeks. The rumor is backed up by a recent extension to the "T.R.U.E. TOMB RAIDER ULTIMATE EXPERIENCE" trademark filed by Square Enix in 2018.

If true this bundle could contain over 15 Tomb Raider games released during the last 24 years from various consoles. What do you think of the leak and trademark extension, a sign of imminent release, or just hopeful thinking and some Photoshop skills?

I don't feel there is anything exciting about this. A lot of these big game makers are just reviving old games by repackaging them in some bundles to continue milking them. Otherwise, they will try to "remake" it by improving the graphics. The latter is not great, but still better than repackaging it in bundles to resell.

I dont really like remaster, take C&C Remaster for example. They updated the graphics, and make some newer music and some gameplay tweak (like build queue) but it didnt fix a lot of things in the game like AI pathfinding still sucks (stuck at bottleneck, or go all the way across the map).

I appreciate they make this because the game is damn old and cant be played on modern hardware, but unless you play this game back in the day and wanted to play it for nostalgic sake, you will feel step backwards compared to modern RTS (unit waypoint, building waypoint, AI etc.)

For anything that is playable on modern system (like Crysis) they DONT NEED a remaster. The 'leaked' video look like one step forward, two step back. Why? Because they make it multi platform (even on Switch FFS) instead of PC exclusive like the originals so a lot of compromise need to be made.

Its like they dump all Crysis asset on newer Cryengine and done. A lazy remaster, if you can even call it 'remaster'. They better do something about it because people already complaining from the videos.
