The Radeon Pro W5500X is a high-end professional graphics card by AMD, launched on December 11th, 2019. Built on the 7 nm process, and based on the Navi 14 graphics processor, in its Navi 14 PRO XL variant, the card supports DirectX 12. The Navi 14 graphics processor is an average sized chip with a die area of 158 mm² and 6,400 million transistors. It features 1536 shading units, 96 texture mapping units, and 32 ROPs. AMD has paired 8 GB GDDR6 memory with the Radeon Pro W5500X, which are connected using a 128-bit memory interface. The GPU is operating at a frequency of 1187 MHz, which can be boosted up to 1757 MHz, memory is running at 1750 MHz (14 Gbps effective). The AMD Radeon Pro W5500X uses Apple's MPX form factor, which is a proprietary interface design that combines a traditional PCI-Express x16 slot with a second custom-Apple connector, to provide additional data bandwidth and power delivery capability. The MPX slot is backwards compatible with classic PCI-Express x16 cards, which may be installed in the PCIe slot part of MPX. Separate power cables are not required, power draw is rated at 125 W maximum. Display outputs include: 2x HDMI 2.0b. Its price at launch was 599 US Dollars.
