Futuremark announced today that 3DMark 11, the latest version of the industry standard benchmark for real-time 3D graphics, will be released on November 30. 3DMark 11 Advanced Edition priced at $19.95 can be pre-ordered today from http://www.3dmark.com/. Futuremark has updated the 3DMark website to highlight the exclusive features in the Advanced Edition and has released a new pre-order preview trailer showing graphical improvements in the Deep Sea and High Temple scenes. A selection of new before and after screenshots demonstrate tessellation, volumetric lighting and other effects created with DirectX 11.

The Deep Sea scene now includes particle effects in the water as submersibles explore the sea bed and discover a sunken World War II submarine. Any benchmark allows for a rank of components. One could go so far as to say if I pay $500 for a system that scores 75 points and for $800 I could get a system that would do 80 points, is the upgrade worth it?

Well updated benchmarks account for higher resolution, better filtering(AA/AF aka eye candy), impact on gpu vs cpu, and other current importance's.

Edit, please have a Download Link available on the 30th W1z!!

been waiting for a decent bench for a while hoping 3dmark 11 is it. vantage took it backwards in the way of realism this looks like we're moving forwards again.

Stop trolling please. If you cant understand why people run benchmarks, there is no reason for you to be in this thread.

what are you taking about, i love benchmarking and i have no attachment to either brand. but physx does leave AMD users with lower scores.

That is what I am talking about. Dont blame the bench for AMDs lack of implementation. Move on or the vacation will be awarded.

Let's relax. :) PhysX isn't implemented in this benchmark, and there's no reason to revisit it or talk about Vantage in this thread.

He shouldn't. This app won't run on "normal PCs" (the ones in offices, at mom's place, etc.) :)

Wooohoo!
Are they using an in-house compute shader engine for physics or a software solution? I can't find that info in their page.

Vantage was less than 500MB, 3D06 is around 500MB so I'm really doubting anything over 1-1.5GB will be released.

I hope so . It is really a pain to DL even that much . I would like to see them sell it in the store for 20 bucks on a CD now that I would buy !
