New USB hub from Thanko looks and feels like a real gold ingot

Anyone wanting to pretend to rob Fort Knox in the comfort of their living room can now do it, and get a free USB hub. For ¥5,980 ($52/£27/€40), you can snatch yourself a nice 2.4 Kilogram (weight of a real gold ingot) shiny USB hub. While it has no real gold in/on it, the USB hub certainly has the look. The 19.6 x 7.3 x 4.9cm block, sporting 8 USB ports, should ship sometime in December. More details on Thanko's site.

But is it SLI or Crossfire certified? Because I don't attach anything to my system unless it is certified by a graphics card company.

You're kidding, right?

A SLI compatible USB hub? Do you have SLI compatible CPU cooler and case fans? SLI hard drives, Mouse/Keyboard, speakers, LCD? Probably the special green SLI-Certified nVidia case? SLI power cables connected to a SLI-Certified power-outlet powered by an SLI-Certified power plant that uses SLI-Certified Uranium from an SLI-Certified country?

But my computer isn't running off the sweet taste of SLI-Certified power!

I have some sweet SLI-Certified air if you're running air cooling. And even if you're water cooling, this air is so special that if you cool it to only -182.95 °C, it will condense into LIQUID AIR! Then you can use it in your liquid cooling system. Only $200 a jar! Buy before Christmas and get Half Off!

Rough amount of air needed to fill an average case is 15 jars. One complete filling will last one to two weeks. nVidia can not be held responsible for any damage that SLI-Air causes to your system. Use at your own risk. SLI-Air is non-refundable. All sales are final. Lorem ipsum dolor sit amet, consectetuer adipiscing elit. In feugiat augue sed magna. RoHS compliant no doubt, LOL - I bet it's solid LEAD. That's funny. The weight must make it nice and stable, though. :)

Some sort of butt pirate, as it would seem. I can't understand the appeal of this? Particularly, for the price? God, I would be fucking offended if someone got me this for Christmas. I'd want to sling it at them in a manner befitting a biblical scene. Seriously, what a waste of money. For $50? Get me condoms and alcohol of the same value, or piss off entirely.

No way am I kidding. Every component in any good gaming computer has to be certified by a graphics card company. How else are you supposed to know if a part is good or not?
