ASUS Intros VG255H Console Gaming Monitor

ASUS today introduced the VG255H, a 24.5-inch "console gaming monitor." The company is targeting this Full HD (1920 x 1080 pixels) monitor at console gamers, as a better alternative to TV. We guess ASUS is also hedging its bets on PC gamers transitioning over to consoles (who prefer gaming on a desk), in the wake of the crypto-plague pricing out affordable graphics cards. HDMI is the only digital input this monitor has, it has two HDMI 1.4a ports, and supports AMD FreeSync over HDMI.

Besides FreeSync, the gaming-grade credentials of this TN-film monitor are bolstered by 1 ms response time, 75 Hz refresh-rate, GameFast Input Technology (which works to reduce input lag), and ASUS GamePlus, a set of features that include OSD crosshairs, FPS counters, timers, and bezel compensation. Also included are six game genre-specific display presets. Besides HDMI, the monitor includes a D-Sub input. Its stand offers height, tilt, and 90° rotation. The company didn't reveal pricing.

I use a VG245H (same as this, but 24 inches) with a console and I love it. Fastest 60hz monitor I ever tested input lag wise (I test a lot of them). Am I to blame?

People should grow up, there are options for everyone.

That guess seems off. PC gamers will never settle for the limitations of consoles. Controllers are great, and indeed preferred, for many kinds of games. However they are terrible for other kinds. FPS's, RTS's, flight sims, or anything that needs the speed, precision and grace of a mouse. The short-lived trend of overpriced video cards seems very much on the way out as it is.

GPU prices aren´t going anywhere, mining is here to stay, and you can use mouse and keyboard on consoles. Search for xim apex. A lot of gamers are transitioning to PS4, nothing new. You can keep refusing it if you want. Mining is destroying PC gaming, specifically the AAA market. PC is getting more and more an Indie games/retro RTS, MOBA machine.

Ryzen 2400G is the answer, No need for console, and no miner is ever going to buy all those up.

I own a PC building business and watch prices daily. Yes they are coming down. I didn't say mining was going to disappear, only that it was on a downtrend that wasn't slowing.

I have a PS4, there's no comparison to PC with proper keyboard and mouse support.

Those are good chips for light, low res, low detail gaming. Not good enough for high end stuff.
