Razer Announces the Raion Arcade Fightpad

Razer has announced the Raion, an arcade fightpad for PS4 and PC, with top tier tournament features giving players the control and accuracy of a fullsize fightstick in the palm of their hands.

Designed from the ground up for the fighting game community, the Raion features a 6-button layout on the face of the fightpad, a tactile 8-way D-pad, and the traditional shoulder and trigger buttons. This layout offers a greater variety of input options for both standard and 'claw' grip style players. A competition mode disables extra buttons to ensure uninterrupted gaming and the PS4 touchpad has all the console functions players expect from their controller.

$100 for a wired sega gamepad clone? I highly doubt that a few generic rebranded 3mm tactile switches and a generic usb audio codec for that generic 3.5mm jack costs that much extra...

Apparently not, it's for fighting games and the "pros" apparently play like that...
I was confused by this to start with as well.
Even so, it's priced stupidly.

$100? No.

Layout? Yes.

I'd enjoy being able to use a gamepad for some games but the market is filled with pads with dinky joy-sticks on gamepads which makes no sense. Six primary buttons and two trigger buttons is the way to go if you're using a game pad. The style looks like a developer version, doesn't look refined. Kinda of weird.

The Microsoft Sidewinder gamepad is easily the best gamepad ever, in my opinion that is. Also have the Sidewinder joystick which I rocked X-Wing versus Tie Fighter for hours. That was back when Microsoft knew how to design stuff.

I'm down for it. I prefer a PS type of layout rather than XBox, which I see most of these newer controllers use. Wish it was a bit cheaper, maybe $70?
