ASUS Intros GeForce RTX 3070 Ti Turbo Graphics Card

ASUS gave the GeForce RTX 3070 Ti its Turbo lateral-blower treatment. Designed for cases with a strict 2-slot limitation, or workstations with multiple add-on cards that have just two slots to spare for the graphics card, the RTX 3070 Ti joins other RTX 30-series "Ampere" cards from ASUS to receive this design. Its cooler features an aluminium channel heatsink that pulls heat from the GPU and memory over a copper plate (although it's not known if this is a vapor chamber plate like on the RTX 3090 Turbo). The lateral blower features double-ball bearings. The card draws power from two 8-pin PCIe power connectors located toward the tail-end (and not on top), these are right next to SSI mount holes that could come handy in workstation cases. The card sticks to NVIDIA-reference clock speeds, with 1770 MHz boost clocks, and 19 Gbps (GDDR6X-effective) memory. The company didn't reveal pricing.

Waiting for that 3090ti ,450w beast and a new power connector . Seems like PSUs will get pricier too

I presume gamers will never see these, outside of PR shots?

Especially with the market as it is. I still somewhat like blower cards, though they are noisy - not just under load, even at idle.

I do like the rear plugs. Seriously, why the hell doesn't everyone do this as a default SOP? Mid-card top facing plugs are just a poor design and dumb.

funny contrast to first have Asus work with Noctua on that beastly custom 3070 and now Asus brings out pretty much the exact opposite 3070 as well.

There are people who will use these in rackmount cases and that's where blower cards with power plugs on rear side are a necessity. Just because its not designed for you doesnt mean no one is going to use them.

If >50dB is “not bad” we must have very different ideas about the phrase lol. Blowers drive me nuts and are literally 3-4x the volume of a decent axial cooler.

I think you guys are misreading — they’re saying they like the card, and appreciate these features, but assume that they’ll find their ways to miners, who also prefer these features.

I still do not get why they brought out noctua in vanilla 3070 and not the ti. Perhaps to clear out inventory all I can think off.
