This Week in Gaming (Week 1)

Welcome to the first week of new games of 2024, although the first week of the year isn't exactly starting with a bang. In fact, there are so few new releases that we couldn't even get one per day, but luckily there were enough new games being released on other days for a full roundup. We got everything from bootleggers to tiny cars and a point and click adventure to keep you busy this coming week.

Bootlegger's Mafia Racing Story / Monday 1 January
Step back in time to the roaring 1930s and immerse yourself in the high-stakes world of bootlegging during America's Prohibition era. Get ready to join John Hamerton, a retired car engineer and mechanic, as he embarks on a daring journey to save his house and pay off his tax debt.
Halberd Black / Wednesday 3 January
Halberd Black is an action-adventure JRPG set thousands of years into the future of our galaxy, where you play as a Stark, a genetically engineered human being caught in a struggle to survive and protect those he hold's most dear from those who'd wish him harm. Explore the rich story of the Halberd Black universe and explore the beautiful landscapes, dense city streets and enjoy combat reminiscent of the JRPG's of old.
Micro Machines: Mini Challenge Mayhem / This week's VR game / Thursday 4 January
Race Micro Machines around tracks and bring impossible courses, stunts, and speed to life in a high-octane VR track builder and racing game! Build tracks, blaze through circuits, perform stunts at max speed, crash elaborate sets for ultimate demolition. Do it all in your own home in mixed reality!
Portal: Revolution / This week's mod / Friday 5 January
The Portal Mod you've been waiting for. Delve into a new story with original characters, spanning over 8 hours of gameplay and featuring over 40 new challenging test chambers which make use of new mechanics.
The Night is Grey / Friday 5 January
Graham is alone in a forest filled with strange wolves. While he's fleeing for his life he finds a lost girl in an abandoned lodge that won't survive without his help. Try to find their way to safety in this game filled with puzzles, engaging dialogue and innovative storyline.

Got bitten by dog in noon and now post vaccination I am in pain. Looks like I will be sleeping through 1st Jan instead of doing anything(had planned for a little bit of gaming and gardening).

Thanks again, @TheLostSwede for doing these each week. I probably never would have seen 'The Night is Grey' otherwise.

Was getting hyped for MicroMachines then died when I clicked on the trailer and found out it was a VR game.

So many fond memories of playing MicroMachines on the Sega Genesis

ChaitanyaWe dont get snow here in tropics(though we have a pleasantly normal winter), also for some reason even some of the usual Himalayan tourist spots seem to have recieved lower than usual rains and snow.

Ah yes, I forgot who I was replying to. We've had quite a bit of snow in Sweden so far this winter, but it keeps getting warm in between and it melts away, which is annoying. Now it's going to get colder for a couple of weeks, but no more snow...

No precipitation in the mountains is a bad thing, as it'll lead to droughts in summer in other places.

My bad, I missed that, will update, but it was so few releases this coming week that it had to go on the list.
