Petition Started to Extend Windows XP Life; 75,000 Sign in Three Weeks

Infoworld started a Save XP petition on their website. The main goal of this petition is to get Microsoft to continue handing out Windows XP licenses beyond the June 30 deadline Microsoft put out. Fortunately for Windows XP diehards everywhere, an astounding 75,000 people have signed this petition so far. Infoworld plans on presenting this petition to Microsoft when they reach 100,000 signatures. If you have not already done so, I suggest you sign the petition if you feel that Windows XP should be around a little longer than June 30, 2008.

petition signed.

i will not be forced to use ms's POS spyware bloated OS. Period.

....even if that means that we'll be forced to use other methods of obtaining xp.

Yeah I love vista and I kind of wish more people would like it too.

But I won't be an ass and force people to use it. I'll go head and put in my vote.

Can I just point out that they are destined to fail from the beginning?

100,000 people signing a petition is frigging peanuts when you consider the sheer number of people using MS software. Especially since XP is the most pirated OS out there anyway lol.

waste of time, MS will never extend the life time of this regardless of how many people sign, people need to move on, something i tend to do when i get the funds.

Exactly wl if ppl are happy to use a os that wont be supported and no updates then more power to them its already had its life extended a few times xp is old let it die gracefully.

Sorry, but with the current state of driver and hardware support, they have another year to go before they piss off enterprise customer with this. I doubt it's even true - "the only thing worse than being talked about... it NOT being talked about"

Yes, I signed :)

I get a good chuckle out of those that are bothered by the fact that there are many that prefer XP over Vista! Haven't you heard "to each his/her own"? Instead of simply keeping quiet and letting those who want XP petition for it you get the immature ranting as we see in this thread. I have tried vista and truly don't like it at all. For my personal needs XP is all that I need and find nothing that Vista offers over XP. Many others have come to this very same conclusion. So if you like Vista more power to you but don't expect to convince others that it's better. Specially when some of us know that it's not better for every day home use. Nor have the "do as your told" mentality about which products we should buy.
