Mushkin Releases 996580X2 DDR2 Memory

Mushkin today announced a new DDR2 800 MHz, 2x 2GB dual-channel memory kit, the XP2 series model 996580X2. The product targeted at the mainstream thru value segments. Mushkin adopted a simplistic product design which includes two modules without heatspreaders. The modules operate at voltages between 2 and 2.1V and DRAM timings of 4-4-4-12. The modules use an 8-layer black coloured PCB to reduce electronic noise. Mushkin plans to sell this kit for 46 to 49 Euros including taxes.

so 900mhz maybe for 24/7. I would think this would be good for maybe someone who doesn't want to overclock the ram much. maybe a HTPC

I agree judging by the voltage and speed. ProMOS chips are very popular for manufacturers currently.

p_o_s_pcyour ram uses Promos, powerchip maybe D9s not for sure take a look here ramlist.i4memory.com/ddr2/

after looking again i am thinking promos
but because of OCZ's low voltage rating i am thinking Micron D9s
I'm looking into that, says micron d9 for chips produced before 2008. I bought these in the summer of 08

good D9's would give 1100 cas5 2.1v easy, however shit D9JLN wont do 1100 ;)

they can't be d9gmh/d9gkx since d9gmh and d9gkx can only be 1gb sticks

That ram looks good and if the pricing is right then even better mushkin is usually way out of my budget.

900? No way. I own OCZ XTC Rev. 2 ram and they are ProMOS as well, I oc'd them to 1002MHz before with some help and they seemed stable on most of my stress tests. So expect this memory to do better.

4-4-4-12, 2.25V. It wasen't stable enough for Crysis on some of its levels so I slowed down. If my next mobo won't support it, I'm rolling with either Mushkin or Corsair.
