Preorders for nVIDIA GTX 1080TI

Yes, weaker PCB and power parts, I forgot about that. So, as a conclusion, non-OC, non-customized (that is, without improved circuitery, not fancy fans and rgb) cards are NOT A GOOD BASE FOR GOING WATERCOOLING.

Please keep any future posting after this one regarding the 1080ti and it's preorder. I will have mods remove any discussion that is not about video cards. Thanks guys! :toast:

[My fault :ohwell: The passion was strong :D]

Last night I read about 3Dmark results already showing up. Now I checked, and there are none... :wtf: Removed?

still under NDA probably?... and FE result would be BOOOOOORING .... luckily since it's a "semi late launch" ... custom model will follow faster than previous launch (since people learned that the FE were worth nothing over a custom with the 1070 and 1080 )

(i am glad it was not ... my fault ... i talk prices and finances but only if it's related to the thread theme  )

in the end the thing that angry me the most with nvidia ... is what i wrote a few post above ... : they price their FE 100$ more than MSRP and are idiotic enough to think AIB will follow the MSRP well they do follow the MSRP ... but instead of pricing the card 50 to 150$ more than MSRP they price it 150 to 250 more, since the reference model is actually 100$ more than MSRP  (bummer for me 1080 are still 400 to 550$ more than the actual new slashed price of 499$ ... it's actually most custom 1070 are closer to 499$)

actually i feel a bit better like that ... otherwise not only Titan XP would be butthurt ... i would ... too ... (a 1080 cheaper than my 1070? less than a year later? )

Its my opinion, Nvidia noticed that many people were looking for reference model 9XX GPUs, and they mistook that as an interest that would transfer to this new design. The old interest was based purely on aesthetics, the look for the new reference model is ugly and therefore it's not been as desired as the one from last generation. As with most companies The reaction from Nvidia is just a year too late

In regards to reference cooler performance speaking only for the 9XX version. My GTX 970 is one of the top 10 or so scores in unigineheaven benchmark thread on tpu,and it's a reference model.. i'm certainly not bragging but it did not perform many many AIB models

The buying from Nvidia's site is over, no more available, you can just "sign up for notification". I signed up 1000 times a week ago, lol, never received an email.

Non Reference cards are supposed to go on sale today. Lets see if this happens.

Overclockers.co.uk seems to have plenty of Gigabyte 1080 Ti's in stock at least.

Now if that was only Amazon and Asus Strix cards.

Holy cow! I just entered my local nvidia site and preorder is open!

What to do? Get Founders edition or something like Strix or EVGA monsters? I love the compact size of the FE but without reviews about overclocking, temps, noise... The FE is supposed to be better than ever but...

Avoid the FE unless you put the card under water. Cherry picking on Pascal is bullshit anyway, they all clock according to how well you cool them, and the vast majority clocks over 2000mhz. If you wanted binning for the last 5% to be sure you hit 2100+ (for GP104 that is!) you could also pick any of the higher end AIB cards that performed better, because better cooling.

Check out the Palit, MSI and Asus Strix offerings. Those were hands down the best 1080's out there.

some of those Taxes are going to support me because i don't work!!!:)
Its not that i am medically unfit to work or i'm a dole Scrounger :)

Put it this way
what i get for Careing for my Father is £*** pittance a month
If the State was to Care for him it would cost you as a tax payer >10 + times what i get as Benefit
Ps it works out i get <£0.50p an hour

Oi where is my min wage

Let's face it, anyone with half a business sense doesn't pay 20 or 21% tax in Europe either. You can deduct a lot of things every year. And they wonder how that gap between income groups won't stop growing.

It's still offtopic tho

After reading through a thread on EVGA's forum, looks like cards are to be released for sale at 10AM Pacific time this morning (2 hours from the time of this post).

Stupid ass time tables....Why not midnight like everything else in the world?

It'll be midnight for someone!

So much for non reference cards releasing today...

Im waiting for the strix. I could have gotten a FE on newegg, but id rather not.

I can get free one day shipping now with amazon newegg takes to long to ship items, plus there all old out of the Ti as well.

for those intrested just got email from overclockers.co.uk
GTX 1080Ti IS HERE! Free Shipping for Entire Basket with GTX 1080 Ti, 1080 or 1070 + For Honor or Ghost Recon: Wildlands Game Code!

Ordered MSI ''Flanders Edition'', 815 € at amazon.es, a lot better. Free Express shipping (Prime). I was convinced because just turning the fan up (custom profile), it OC's over 2000Mhz, and that is more than enough.
