crysis has the bare minimum of destructible items, the environment itself is not.

apart from shooting trees with an MG on a vehicle, its almost worthless in crysis.

Oh ya, fully destructable means everything hey? I remember Red Faction 1 on ?PS2? was fully destructable environments, one of the first games I played where u could bury urself way way into the walls with the rcoket launcher. Oh the memories

yup, back when you could dig a hole in the ground or tunnel your way around MP maps to set up ambushes from weird locations.

Ha for some reason I was limited on how much I could dig, I would go extremely far into the walls then suddenly the launcher would stop exploding rocks for some reason, must've reached a limit.

wtf, i just learned that a COD: Black Ops achievement is called "Easy Rhino." WTF!!!!!! I hate that game! And their reference has nothing to do with the movie Clear and Present Danger. double fail!

Remove achiements, DLC and most online content and produce good stories instead. I seriously hate this modern gaming thing. I'm supposed to earn "achievements" and go online and socialize with whatever people playing the same game as me. Screw that. I want to sit in the dark, alone, and drink from the cup of good writing.

Longer single player for sure. I flat refuse to pay $50+ for a 5 hour game. I would like to see single player RPG's make a comeback, so sick of the MMO's.

I'd like to see the return of light tank rushes.

A longer single player is a must. That seems to be the main consensus around this topic. I want to put in 90+ hours in a game before really finishing it. I became spoiled thanks to the Final Fantasy franchise.

My idea's of a perfect game:

Good graphics at least equal or better to those of mw2.
Sandbox style, but gives you a map and tells you where to go so you don't get lost.
A realistic/cool story line, characters developing plot.
Preferably a FPS or FPS/RPG.
A reason for the story and your mission.
A background on yourself as the character.
Destructible environments.
Problem solving, e.g. Half Life-2.
YOU can put a savepoint anywhere between checkpoints.
Good voice acting and sounds.
Physics.
Range of environments.
Detail.
Optimization.
Customizable.
Something that of Crysis Sandbox editor.
Allow MP maps from users.
Non-repetitive gameplay.
Skippable cutscenes.
Range of vehicles.
Time in game to just muck around, though still do something to help the plot move along.
Atleast some humour when the time is right.

^ I hate that too. I think you should get lost in a big map. What is the point of a large open environment if I can click a button and it draw a linear path to the end point. I think the whole bread crumb concept is for children.

A map market is fine like Far Cry 2 or Grand Theft Auto. But bread crumbs like Dead Space or the Fable series should just be removed.

what would you like to see more of in games? Things that you don't see enough of?


Its an open question, all kinds of answers are welcome.

1) Dynamic campaigns (Falcon 3.0 style).
2) Well-presented storylines, with full voice-overs and detailed characters (or just more games from Bioware, heh).
3) Newtonic physics in space combat.
4) More single-player-only games. You know, ones where storyline (gasp!) matters more than the amount of achievements and weapons in multiplayer.

For a specific game I want: A sequel to Nexus: The Jupiter Incident with a dynamic campaign and kickass space combat.

2) Star Wars: X-Wing is also an amazing game, it was released in 1993.
3) Falcon 3.0 was released in 1991.

Just a correction, X-Wing was the first game (1991), TIE Fighter was the second (1994). TIE Fighter is my favorite space combat game of all time, with Freespace running in at second place.
