you can get alchemy that WILL INSTALL AND WORK from that link.(works on any soundcard)

you may have to join up to see the post or download, it takes a couple sec of your time, still faster then waiting on megacrapload or rapidshit.

EDIT: CMMS-3D, you can get these same "surround sound" effects with multi chan sound(4.1/5.1/7.1) by setting your audio player to use your realtek speekers insted of "Default direct sound device), I do it all the time with TCMP, Winamp, vlc and other players, so really with the tools i have liked (alchemy univercel) you dont "need" the x-fi mod, just tweak your EQ and enjoy the fact that it sounds fine.(default EQ settings sucks ass hard)

I would upload kets drivers to my site but, well if he cant be bothered to do it why should I spend my time uploading out dated drivers? the only reasion he hasnt is hes a to lazy (hes admited such in his thred over there)

again your all welcome to pop over, i have the 2.18 drivers for both xp and vista(32 and 64bit) as well as 3d soundback and alchemy uni all uploaded for anybody who needs/wants them

So what's with the 30-day trial part? I assume that applies to the software suite part and not the drivers...?

I'm thinking about ripping out my SB Live Platinum for the ALC888 chip my Mobo has, though there are some SB recording and wave manipulation applications that I'm hesitant to lose.

ask around, i use to HATE vista, sp1 did alot to help the os, 2k8 is NATIVE sp1, that makes a HUGE diffrance(its not a patch) addins sp2 to vista or 2k8 makes it damn neer perfect, and far nicer for a 2k3/xp x64 user then windows 7 will ever be if ms keep with their current plan to remove alot of stuff old skool windows users like myself use alot(quick launch, classic start menu, and other things)

In fact this X-fi mod is a hoax from what I've got from it. I have realized that this sound device cannot be identified as an X-fi sound card through Battlefied 2. I can enable EAX, but my card has been doing that even without these drivers.

This mod is completely ridiculous over improvements. The only thing I got out of it was headphone stuttering.

Uninstalling...

none at all, I tweak the EQ either way, and that all this mod really does, it dosnt change how the chips prosessing data, as was stated a page or 2 back, the changes are all things u can do with the realtek EQ really.

and 2 people i had test the 2.17 and then 2.18 drivers had front panil headphones studder/click, duno why, but seems at least on some systems the changes made arent good under vista(not many ppl i know still are on xp if they can run vista/2k8)

i went back and forth between the 2.17's and kets mod's 4 times, honestly couldnt hear a diffrance.

the 2.18's i moved back to the realtek versions, tho i will likely attach kets vista drivers to a post on ashentech so others can test without using megacraphole to get the files.

I looked into that and I think its because Direct X acceleration(IE DirectSound) might be disabled, In creatives install files it reads Direct X acceleration as disabled, I don't know why though, its wierd

yep and alchemy for the x-fi mb driver by default is not supported in xp and is totally screwed up for these drivers in vista
