Reflashing to original 5700 non XT bios fails with "ROM not erased ERROR/ F0L01"

Honestly, apparently we are stuck. I don’t think that they will pay attention to us and make a bios or correct a mistake. Most likely this is the end.
What do you do in this case?! Use the card with the BIOS from 5700XT?

Gotta open command prompt with administrator privileges/rights, use the unlock command along with force command, if you want to know all commands in amdvbflash.exe

Punch in amdvbflash.exe /? Or amdvbflash.exe -?

You can use wattman or afterburner too

Yes, but she’s not stable. the frequency jumps very often and this is very bad.

My 5700 red devil is stable with 5700XT bios. Perhaps thermal problems if the frequency jumps and card is unstable? You can always limit the frequency and/or power usage back to original or at least stable values using wattman.

Still I am a bit sad that I can't do anymore modifications to the bios after the first flash.

Sounds to me like your eeprom is not erasing/defective for some reason.

I doubt they'll fix this though because bios flashing is not covered by warranty.

If so, your options at this point are ugly, limited, and may not even work.

The strangest thing is that with a voltage of 1.1000 and a specially set frequency of 1500 - it still resets it to 1300 ...

Oh, if you only knew what I didn’t do. And undervolting and powerlimit boost. I used to overclock the 7950 and I know how it looks, but there is no fixed frequency. Now 1700, then 1950 and so on.

When upgrading to AMD12.19.3, the situation worsened and immediately the frequencies worked at 1800-1600 - no higher.

I'm afraid some kind of protection is really installed there. Bios used 1 in 1 as the theme creator.

Will it help if I buy a programmer, will it be a brick. The problem is that I bought the store CompUniv.

Of course, I also have a spare bios, but I’m very afraid to flash it, or try it all the same.

If you don’t believe me, I can show it through - team viewer...

He does not even allow to flash his own BIOS again. (XT)

why dont you just pay for new card instead hiring an programmer to do so, make sure it was xt this time, the difference bettwen xt & non xt priced is sighthly here, im not sure where your live tho price could be different, as for here you just need pay for extra $30 to get those xt model, say $470 for vannila red devil, and $500 for xt:)

I live in Russia, we have 2 times the price. Ordered from Germany, overpayment for XT ~ $ 100.

If there were no problems with this vendor (flash memory), it would be $ 100 and would not be worth it.

It would be extremely interesting and strange if PowerColor somehow had a way of only allowing the VBIOS to be flashed once.

@W1zzard it might make a good write-up if you were able to replicate this issue. Especially since (I assume) you have some contacts inside PowerColor who might be able to confirm or deny the behaviour the people in this thread are seeing. (I doubt they will get any answers if they try to go through PowerColor tech support, because... tech support.)

It is, dear. My friend took the same card as mine (Red Dragon 5700), sewn it up - it also does not allow to roll back.

I wrote to the support service, I repeat, I understand that this is no longer a warranty case. But still, I respect, this is a really cheap card at a premium level. Cold on both the chip and the VRM. I wrote to the support service and gave a link to this topic. I hope a company of this level will show loyalty and somehow comment on what is happening. Hope dies last) Maybe they can at least release a fix :)

My Red Devil 5700 is stable with the Red Devil 5700XT bios but for warranty purposes & future bios tweaks would be much appreciative if the guru's can fiqure this out. @Wizzard help

SPI flash is only way then, otherwise dont do it

Oh, if you only knew what I didn’t do.

It literally does not matter. You flashed it. Your warranty is void. it's that simple.

I'm sympathetic because I flash cards all the time (or did before digital signatures). But it's always a risky business no matter whether you are underclocking, overclocking, or sideways clocking.

Yup, its why so much info is required, to me it seems so far XFX and Reference cards can be flashed, possibly sapphire too

advise an inexpensive programmator spi to flush the video card without problems (i will order with AliExpress). In any case, I will wait for an official response.

firmware via computer, I mean the programmer spi, advise what to buy

Your cheapest option is probably going to be something ch341a based.

I can't say exactly what without knowing exactly what the flash chip is.

AsRock, MSI, Sapphire, XFX, Gigabyte, Reference all flash fine. Sapphire Pulse is easiest due to the SSID not changing. It is because the users who pay attention to my directions and have correct files are successful.

This is just a case.
No matter how you suggest, I will say this
2 bios (silent) is always flashed, protection is set to 1 bios (OC).
Checked personally.
