Technical Issues - TPU Main Site & Forum (2022)

Works perfectly for me, I haven't entered my PW on TPU for months, using FF too, with standard privacy controls, but +adblock +ghostery +ublock +idontcareaboutcookies

palemoon (firefox derivative) reporting in.
cookies set to autoclear, but exception set for TPU.
ip's static (using my server as proxy).
haven't been logged out for uhm ... half a year or something now?

Hmm, curious. But my specific case runs Nightly (alpha version of Firefox), so maybe that's why my login breaks every once in a while.

Not that I want to impose any load on you, @W1zzard but can you see in the logs if it's just my browser not sending the login information at all or if the information it sends doesn't match whatever the servers are expecting?

No such info in the logs. Next time you're logged out, use the Devtools (F12) to check which cookies you're sending: Network tab, click on a request, cookies tab on the right side, screenshot and pm me

That's likely the problem. If you were on ESR you would have no such problems.

Apart from a few sloooooow loading third party image hosts, yeah it's been smooth here. Whatever caused my far-far-away lag spikes has smoothed out.

unsure if TPU is lagging, or i've just broken it by uploading high res nerf photos


local speedtests are fine, this thread took ~3 minutes to load

It's like i have a 5KB/s upload to TPU

Edit: and we're back at full speed again

Got it along with all the rest of the emails I think were supposed to arrive. GMail issues? Been having a similar issue elsewhere...

Weird. That test message you sent triggered a flood of unreceived emails.. GMail seems to be having issues.

I normally get many messages a day on gmail from things I've subbed to, but the other day it dried up and then resumed the next day. So yeah, maybe there's a glitch there.

oh wow .. does clearing the cache help? shift+reload? i cleared our whole cloudflare cache, maybe that helps

Looks like some of my add-ons is acting up. Trying to find which. A different Firefox profile is not affected. Cleaning cache hasn't had any effect.

Never mind.

I made some small modernizing changes to the site layout, using flexbox instead of floats, but that shouldn't affect any browser from the last 10 years or so

Exact same issue here, i see what birdie sees*.
* With or without cookies/history cleared, with or without ublock enabled in addons.
** Have also tried a manual emptying of everything inside Waterfox's ..\Local\Profiles (cache, startup, entries, etc). Same issue.

Waterfox G4.0.7 (latest), Win10 20H2.

Also and no offense, your shop, your rights and all that; but.. changing your site 2-3 times a day (i can tell from ublock's filters), what do you know huh, stuff may break!
Who'd have thought.

Found a Firefox setting which breaks TPU:

font.size.systemFontScale - change it from default (100 in my case) to 108.

I'm using the fonts that the website provides.

That should not happen. Have you tried setting Firefox to use system fonts instead of those supplied by TPU?

I use 120% default zoom font is 16 not sure if that is default or not but don't mess with font in about:....

Changing settings in about:config is not causing that problem and is generally ok. The setting birdie is discussing should not be causing a problem either.
