i can see your point, but i also do believe that this is at least pertinent to TPU asw, since bad/useless ads kinda make the look bad.
admittedly, its probably a minor issue, but an issue nonetheless.
Considering that we don't have a better thread, I think it's reasonable to post here.
Fair enough. Shutting up..

shoutout to evga for actually caring & fixing the issue in a timely fashion tho!
Fully agree there.

a wild 502 appeared.

About a minute ago:

yeah i broke it with a too big database query
My bad

i swapped routers (telstra again) and had the ipv6 issues and was smashing F5 a loooooooooot and then TPU died and i went to bed before i got caught

Hi,
Quick recovery site was only down probably 1 minute if that long.

tsk you're hopeless, M. As you can see here, I've never done anything like this. Ever...

8 minutes
Hi,
That's surprising
I hit one of the errors on one link attempt
Closed and hit another link and all was fine after that so that was the fastest 8 minute down time ever

I did end up finally resolving my IPv6 related TPU slowdown - essentially it's google mesh wifis fault for grabbing the wrong IPv6 prefix. It tries to grab *all* of them, with zero consideration that another device already had some.
The router itself had IPv6, but not clients - and something about that would cause a delay and IPv6 traffic wouldnt fall back to v4 until it fully timed out.

So how did you solve it? Disabling IPv6 is my guess. IPv6 has a purpose on the internet. There is no real need for it on private networks.
Nevermind, saw the post in your guide thread.

If i had to guess, it would be some kind of v6tov4 service timing out - the fix applied in the other thread (technically just two routers disagreeing on automatic settings) lets native ipv6 work, so nothing needs to timeout

ipv6 tests told me i had working ipv6 DNS but not v6 traffic, which could explain why it even tried

Edit: Nice job on the forum ads being limited to the same area as the website name!

Absolutely unobtrusive, doesn't interfere with forum use whatsoever and i didn't even notice it was there til another user pointed it out

Nice to get to the bottom of it. Thanks for the update.

I went to upload a MP4 video file today. When I try to upload the video on here it gave me "opps something went wrong". Does the site not support Mp4's? it won't show up If I use the upload button, but it says you can drag and drop. I get the opps message when I do the drag and drop

mp4 isnt supported. i could allow the extension, but maximum attachment size is 8 mb, so probably too small for any kind of video

And of course, if you increased that limit to accommodate the "typical" video, you'll soon find yourself hosting terabytes of data that hardly ever gets accessed and its associated running costs. I can't imagine you wanting that situation.

Try uploading to YouTube and linking from there. YouTube channels are free to start and easy to setup.

Exactly, and that is a bad idea. YouTube and other video hosting sites exist for that purpose.

... I need a "THIS" reaction

For the past month or so I am unable to access TPU website on my home PC, tried resetting Edge, and using a fresh install of Firefox.
Using my phone (with wifi at home or 4G or wifi at work) I can access TPU with no problem.
Using my PC at work I can also open up TPU with no problem.
I guess there is something going on with my PC? How can I troubleshoot this and if I should start a thread on this, where should I post it?

You may have got an accidental IP ban, does the home PC work if it's using the phones mobile data network?

Oops forgot to mention that, still doesn't work with mobile network

disable adblockers, that was a common issue a while back with specific ones that went nuts and declared war on TPU for no reason

Hi,
I use ublock origin and have not white listed tpu and have no issues connecting besides being busy doing other things lately
So doubt it's add block.

Use in-private browsing.
