From what I understand the transfer of power is not as good and its longevity hasn't been proven. I'm no expert like some on here but its what Iv read and honestly it makes sense. Hard wired FTW.
The differences in power transfer are minimal at best. The difference is completely insignificant, the only exception might be if a manufacturer decided to really skimp on connector quality, causing poor connections. Even Jonny Guru doesn't say modular connections are a bad thing. Just look at his reviews of the 1200W Thermaltake Toughpower, and then the 1200W Toughpower Cable Management.
The negativity surrounding modular power supplies is based purely on a few bad experiences with low quality units. No high quality manufacturer has problems with modular connectors at all.
As is typical in the online community, a few misinformed people blew things way out of proportion.
Short version = modular is perfectly fine
Hiper is one of the worst psu makers there are. They only ever had 2 decent lines. Note I said decent, not good. There are much, MUCH better psus for the money. My Vote on HIPER and only that ..
In Europe its a top dog , it offers ultimate products , at the lowest price for a high class PSU.
I am Electronics engineer , and i have see cheap PSUs to blow off , and the flames to be ejected by the rear fan , at near by curtains .
Never again cheapest stuff that just do the job.
HIPER competes only with the top players on the market.
I had try also the RMA services of them , the good part , they work.
There is no brand , that has zero failures .
