hello there mate,i will be getting a powercolor x800xl in a couple of weeks,its already 16 pipe unlocked,i dont know if it will be much better than this tho'.

I think the reason for that score was because my card was somehow staying cool. When the temperatures start to pick up...I get crappy marks.

If you find the correct bridges :laugh:

It is not possible to do the "laser cut mod" on R480. This can be done only with R423.
Sorry man, but there is not way how to unlock pipes on your card.

Unfortunately you can't have more pipes but the core should be R480 and should be very good overclocker (600+ MHz).

No, it is a R480. The BIOS just reports it as a R423, it is in essence lying to the drivers when they install.

Now don't talk back to the man.

look on the chip if ur still doubtfull, if its r423 then there usually wont be anything but if its r480 there will be the letters r480

Or just OC it and see how far it goes.

Low 400's is a R423 or crappy R430, mid 400's is a common R430 and anything over 480Mhz is a R480.

Pretty simple.

no, some amazing r430's made it to 500 core but anything over 550 core is a r480
