I have not used modified flashrom but have used winATIflash... is this an error? i must use only modified flashrom ?

after i connect the bridge, last D in CONFIG_SUSTRATE_FUSES is not changed to F, but i am sure to have realized in the just way the bridge.

I have a Sapphire X800 GTO AGP with 2 ns Ram, R423 Chip, OC: 570/600 stable (GPU and Ram Watercooled)

My ATI Tool says:

The Other Card:
Sapphire Radeon X800 GTO PCI-E with 2 ns Ram, R423 Chip (Sorry i was wrong), OC 540/580 (same Cooling)

ATI Tool:

I got 12 Pipes on both, is it possible to get more?
Will I have to flash a new Bios?
I have a problem then, because i don`t have any Floppydrives.... Can i use a CD-Rom to Flash a Bios ?
I don`t want to Overclock it permanently, i only want the 16 Pipes if possible ?

You should be able to get 16 pipelines on both, since those fuses are identical to the ones on a 16 pipeline card. I'm not aware of any modded bioses that have been posted for either of those cards, so post the bioses for both and I'll mod them for you.

I'm sorry to drop out of this; I had ordered a Connect3D GTO ViVo at NorskIT for 171 €, partly because it looked like I could use PayPal. After ordering I read PayPal is not working.
Hmm, I thought I could save the bank fees for international transfers.

Then, while trolling at eBay.de I see some kitchen company selling a supposedly original ATI X800XT256(2ns) for 189 € plus 15 € postage. 9 left out of 38 - I hop over to NorskIT and cancel the order - then buy this. So I won't be unlocking any pipes this time, guys. I feel confident that the Connect3D GTO I would've gotten would be a 423 that could be unlocked. I just felt a little silly taking chances when I could get the real card for just a few bucks more.

Is my Connect3d X800 GTO Modable?

I have a Connect3d X800 GTO. The core is a R423, but I have been unable to unlock to 16p using the modified Connect3d bios and flashrom. The card flashes fine, but ATI Tool still reports 12p. There are other users with this card who recently have reported that they have been unable to flash to 16p as well. I got the card just yesterday.

ThePhased your unsucces is predicted (by the fuses). It is possible to have laser cut (probably - on the left) but connection of it will result again 12 pipes. For your card with these fuses 12 is max. number of pipes.

i read in other posts that some people are getting newer connect3d GTO cards, if planning on getting one i would try getting it somewhere that has had them for awhile; looks like someone hollered at ATI and they are probably wanting people to buy out their stock of x850 cards buy ensuring no bios mods on recently manufactured cards. If anyone knows where to get older ones please post links. I got mine at tigerdirect in the US and they don't seem to sell hardly any of those cards at all at least according to reviews, only 2 so far. It would after all make sense for them to do that.

First remove the cooler and see the core. If it has laser cut on RIGHT side connect it. Flash with PRO BIOS or modified (12 pipe) original BIOS using MODIFIED flashrom. Do the fuse research again and post the results. Your CONFIG_ROM_FUSES should be changed to 21 and your pipes should be 12. It is the maximum pipes that you can obtain from that core.

I consider that with R480 and these fuses you will remain with 12 pipes. You can try flashing but my opinion is that the number of the working pipes will be again 8. Sorry for that bad news.
