The Radeon HD 8490 OEM was a graphics card by AMD, launched on July 23rd, 2013. Built on the 40 nm process, and based on the Caicos graphics processor, in its Caicos XTX variant, the card supports DirectX 11.2. The Caicos graphics processor is a relatively small chip with a die area of only 67 mm² and 370 million transistors. It features 160 shading units, 8 texture mapping units, and 4 ROPs. AMD has paired 1,024 MB DDR3 memory with the Radeon HD 8490 OEM, which are connected using a 64-bit memory interface. The GPU is operating at a frequency of 875 MHz, memory is running at 900 MHz. Being a single-slot card, the AMD Radeon HD 8490 OEM does not require any additional power connector, its power draw is rated at 35 W maximum. Display outputs include: 1x DVI, 1x DisplayPort 1.1. Radeon HD 8490 OEM is connected to the rest of the system using a PCI-Express 2.0 x16 interface. The card measures 168 mm in length, and features a single-slot cooling solution.
