Overclocking

GPU overclocking is available within the "Arc Control" control panel software provided by Intel. At this time memory overclocking isn't listed, but I think they'll add this capability eventually. Just like other parts of the driver, Arc Control is quite buggy and completely unrefined.

For example, the "percentage" GPU frequency overclock really isn't a percentage at all. I ran "+31%", which gave me clocks of 2696 MHz or +10%. The voltage slider allows a crazy up to "0.725 V", and doesn't do anything in reality. Memory OC missing as mentioned before, the power limiter can be adjusted, but the numbers don't work to exactly limit the power draw, it's just a rough estimate, and it seems to be a GPU-only measurement, the actual card draws much more power as revealed by our own testing.

Testing notes & interpretation
  • Overclocking results listed in this section are achieved with the default fan, power, and voltage settings as defined in the VGA BIOS. We choose this approach as it is the most realistic scenario for most users.
  • Each GPU, including each GPU of the same make and model, will overclock slightly differently based on random production variances.
  • The data in this table shows comparable overclocks using identical conditions from previous TechPowerUp reviews.

Overclocked Performance

Using these clock frequencies, we ran a quick test of Unigine Heaven to evaluate the gains from overclocking.

Actual 3D performance gained from overclocking is 5.0%.
