Logitech Takes the Hassle Out of Building Video Conference Rooms

Today Logitech announced the Logitech ConferenceCam Kit with Intel NUC video conferencing system. Configured and validated by Logitech and Intel for performance, simplicity and compatibility, the ConferenceCam Kit includes a Logitech ConferenceCam, Intel NUC and Intel Unite application. The ConferenceCam Kit is compatible with virtually all PC-based cloud services, and does not require users to bring their own computer to start a video call. This enterprise-quality bundle mitigates the complexity and cost for businesses to scale up from a laptop-based experience, or scale beyond a boardroom telepresence system to a flexible and affordable solution for any meeting room.

"We have found that a significant number of Logitech ConferenceCams are attached to dedicated computers in meeting rooms, but purchasing, configuring and deploying a dedicated video conference system in meeting spaces can be expensive, and it's hard for our customers to know what is compatible," said Scott Wharton, general manager of the Logitech video collaboration group. "Logitech and Intel have taken the guesswork out of the equation. We researched, developed and tested the Logitech ConferenceCam Kit so it's easy to set up, easy to use and delivers the most affordable enterprise-quality video conferencing experience available today."
"We are delighted to be working with Logitech to help solve the challenges that businesses face when they install video conferencing systems in meeting spaces," said Tom Garrison, vice president and general manager of the Intel Business Client Division. "Fully integrating the Intel NUC and Intel Unite application into the Logitech ConferenceCam Kit provides customers with an end-to-end system that is flexible, powerful and reliable, yet simple to deploy, manage and use in any meeting space."

The Logitech ConferenceCam Kit works natively with virtually any video conferencing software or service and provides everything needed to deploy video in a meeting room equipped with a display and an Internet connection. Because it works with virtually all PC-based video and web conferencing platforms, the solution can adapt to the changing needs of both IT and users over time. It is not a single-purpose solution locked into an infrastructure investment or service provider choice. Instead, with ConferenceCam Kit, you extend the flexibility and low switching costs associated with cloud services all the way into the conference room.

The ConferenceCam Kit is optimized for use with Logitech Collaboration Program members such as BlueJeans and Zoom, ensuring a superior meeting experience when using these video applications.

Each ConferenceCam Kit includes a market-leading Logitech ConferenceCam for best-in-class video conferencing with HD 1080p video and professional audio, enabling everyone in the meeting room to clearly see expressions, nonverbal cues and movements.

The small form factor Intel NUC provides an ideal combination of performance and reliability to run HD video conferencing with support for multiple HD and 4K UHD displays. Paired with the Intel Unite application, the solution enables wireless content sharing on a PC or Mac and delivers a clean and elegant meeting room configuration.

Also included is Iluminari Quicklaunch SE, a fully configurable and simple user interface that brings appliance-like ease of use to the meeting room with the flexibility and familiarity of collaboration applications. Quicklaunch SE helps ensure a consistent experience across the full enterprise, minimizing the need for user training and IT support.

Microsoft Windows 10 Pro provides a familiar user experience and helps IT departments manage devices, apps, and identities in a way that scales up or down with business needs. It also offers enterprise-grade security features to help protect critical information.

The Logitech Wireless Touch Keyboard K400 Plus has a wireless range of up to 33 feet and an integrated touchpad that makes it easy to initiate a video conference from across the room.

The Logitech ConferenceCam Kit can be seen in public for the first time at Enterprise Connect, March 7-9, in booth #629.

Pricing and Availability
The Logitech ConferenceCam Kit is expected to be available in the U.S. in April at an estimated starting price of $1599.

Yea, one of my Polycom Soundstation VTX 1000 I bought roughly 4 or 5 years ago was around $1400-$1600 /w 2x satellite mics and subwoofer and that's with out video. I had that on an old Avaya Merlin Magix pbx.

would be curious about portability and config over perhaps a 4g connection. Doubt it would replace the polycom systems but it could be interesting for field personnel.
