Intel to Cut down 4 Pentium D CPUs

According to HKEPC, Intel is to kill another 4 Pentium D processors such as Pentium D 830 (3GHz/1MB L2 x2/800MHz FSB), Pentium D 840 (3.2GHz/1MB L2 x2/800MHz FSB), Pentium D 930 (3GHz/2MB L2 x2/800MHz FSB) and Pentium D 940 (3.2GHz/2MB L2 x 2/800MHz FSB), where the deadline of order is 15/12/2006. Intel Core 2 Duo desktop processors, Pentium D 915 (2.8GHz/2MB L2 x2/800MHz FSB), Pentium D 925(3GHz/2MB L2 x2/800MHz FSB) and Pentium D 945(3.4GHz/2MB L2 x2/800MHz FSB) are going to replace the market of the mentioned models. Intel has announced plans to help agents to clean up the stocking of these models. In addition to the cleaning, orders of the 4 models after 6/10/2006 will be denied.

Those arent core 2 duo's
It says Intel Core 2 Duo desktop processors comma...etc, which means they will be replaced by the entire new Core 2 Duo generation plus the others Pentium D 915, 925, 945...

The way you worded it is very confusing, by using a comma it's as if your naming the Core 2 Duo family in my understanding.

What's the difference between Pentium D 930 and 925 they have the same FSB, the Same speed and the same cach :s

I had the same question. Man, the 930 was pretty popular, wonder why they are replacing it with 925 (never even heard of it???)

the 9n5 cpus are 9(n+1)0 cpus - virtualization tech (cept the 955 and 965 of course...)

They arn't bad really. $180 for a 3.4GHz pentium D 945 at zipzoomfly.
