WastedslayerOnly for Intel branded SSD's?
Yes and no. You have to have an Intel drive to access some of the features. But no if you want to use their software to "optimize" your system for an SSD (similar to Tweak-SSD/SSD Tweaker).

Ok... I seem to be having problem here... It's not detecting that there is an updated FW for my Intel 330 when it clearly states that it provides FW update for my SSD...

The Intel SSD Toolbox supports firmware updates on the following Intel SSDs:

Intel® Solid-State Drive Latest Firmware Version

Intel® Solid-State Drive 710 Series 6PB10362
Intel® Solid-State Drive 320 Series 4PC10362
Intel® Solid-State Drive 311 Series 2CV102M5
Intel® Solid-State Drive 310 Series 2CV102M3
Intel® Solid-State Drive 330 Series 330i
Intel® Solid-State Drive 335 Series 335j
Intel® Solid-State Drive 520 Series 400i
Intel® X18-M / X25-M SATA SSDs (34nm) 2CV102M3
Intel® X25-V SATA SSD 2CV102M3

How come? :shadedshu :shadedshu :shadedshu

Ok, I uninstalled IRST and Toolbox (v3.1.0) then rebooted... Installed IRST (File name: iata_enu.exe / Version:11.6.0.1030), rebooted twice, reinstalled Toolbox (v3.1.0).............. but same problem... :(

bim27142Wait, so after you updated the FW your startup\reboot is now longer?
Apparently a shutdown was needed..

Dude. It clearly says, where you circled for us no less, that the current SSD contains current firmware for this Toolbox release. The instructions simply tell you that the utility supports your SSD. So when there actualy is new firmware your little button will no longer be grey. I promise.

Settle down and actually read what is on your screen. Thanks.

^^ I understand but why did Intel put this? Maybe typo or just kinda misleading...

The Intel SSD Toolbox supports firmware updates on the following Intel SSDs:

Intel® Solid-State Drive Latest Firmware Version

Intel® Solid-State Drive 710 Series 6PB10362
Intel® Solid-State Drive 320 Series 4PC10362
Intel® Solid-State Drive 311 Series 2CV102M5
Intel® Solid-State Drive 310 Series 2CV102M3
Intel® Solid-State Drive 330 Series 330i
So from the above, unless I misunderstood it, 330i is the latest FW... but anyhow, no big deal as I am not actually having issues... just sucks for companies saying something inconsistent and misleading... I think you know what I mean... ;)

Hi,

Thank you writing to Intel Customer Support. I understand that you were not able to use SSD Toolbox to update to firmware 330i, which is the latest firmware version for 330 SSD as stated in our website at downloadcenter.intel.com/Detail_Desc.aspx?agr=Y&DwnldID=18455

Allow me to further check on this, I will update you as soon as there is any findings. Again, thank you for bringing this matter to our attention.

Best Regards,

Intel Customer Support

This happens to be a buggy release afterall and a "typo" for the 330 Series firmware... Version:3.1.1 has just been released and the note corrected to show 300i firmware for the 330's.
