c2DDragonActually you can avoid the DCH version by going in "Beta and Older Drivers" in the Advanced Driver Search www.nvidia.com/Download/Find.aspx?lang=en-us, then you select the Standard version so you don't have to download the NVIDIA Control Panel from the Microsoft Store and you have the default one from the driver. You download the last one then at the setup you pick the one without GeForce Experience :

Choose custom if you want to remove PhysX & HD Audio for whatever reason, you can see GeForce Experience is not picked by default.

Install your drivers, profits.

If you want to remove the telemetry there is a program called "Autoruns" that let you remove or prevent dlls at start : docs.microsoft.com/en-us/sysinternals/downloads/autoruns
You can see I want to use GeForce Experience, I removed some telemetry but not everything, for example if NvBatteryBoostCheck is not set to start, GeForce Experience doesn't work. At least it didn't work when I did prevent it to start in the past.
That Tip is wasted on this thread its that good, it'll get buried, That's so useful and helpful it should have its own thread and be stickied.

But but but if people ask how to do, how will I increase my messages/day ratio ? :D
Joke aside, feel free to make a thread if you think it could be necessary.
I just own those screens, not the knowledge :D

xkm1948Hmmmmm, Now I am very tempted to update to 2004 Win10.

But then I have to install WSL2 and redo all of my terminal settings as well as all of my security keys. God damn it.
I force installed 2004 to play with WSL2 and in my experience the conversion was not automatic. I had to manually install the kernel (you get the link when trying to convert the image. This is only for the first time, afterwards it updates trough windows update ) and then i had to tell it to convert the WSL 1 image to WSL 2. You can even run WSL 1 and WSL 2 images side by side and convert them back and forth. I believe that settings and files on the converted image are kept.
On a related note MS is apparently working in partnership with Nvidia, AMD, and Intel on implementing hardware acceleration for Linux UI apps! There was talk of using CUDA for machine learning in the article I've read. Things are weird, in a good way.

TomorrowWhere have you been living? Nvidia has forced GFE for years and there has NEVER been and option NOT to install this. That is why i linked TPU's own NV Clean Install.
You have no idea what the hell you're talking about. There has always been the option to skip GeForce experience when installing the drivers. The problem is people don't notice that when they first begin the driver installation because when they get to the second part is where it's greyed out.

My final thought about this driver, after lot of testings, this is a good one a little bit better than 451.22, but i noticed a huge drop of fps when HAGS + game mode enabled, HAGS enabled only: same as disabled or sometimes less fps, so the better way is to disable HAGS and game mode, but driver is a way better than all lately whqls.

Is anybody using NVCleanstall able to access the control panel installed from the Windows Store? If i have the "Nvidia Display Container LS" service running the icon shows up but the app immediately exists after launch. If i have it disabled not even the tray icon shows up. Also i installed this version but 446.14 still show up as the installed version. I think I have to install it the old fashion way. :(

I’m getting a strange stutter issue when scrolling in web pages with the latest Firefox after installing this driver. Turned on the hardware accelerated scheduling.

Edit: Turning off 'Hardware-accelerated GPU Scheduling' stopped the stuttering.

I uninstalled NVCleanstall and installed the driver from the executable. After this the control panel is working again. If i disable the "Nvidia Display Container LS" service the tray icon disappears and i can't run the control panel until i enable ti again. The strange thing is that the service was running after i tried to install the driver with the tool (i say "tried" because the driver version did not change, so ie guess it failed). The previous install with not working control panel was made with NVCleanstall. This might be because I disabled all non essential Nvidia stuff with Autoruns before installing NVCleanstall.

Edit: after posting it occurred to me that i should have searched the appropriate forum for NVCleanstall and not spam this one. Sorry.

Probably for the best it showed a negligible drop in performance, wouldn't mind a comparison video now with Pascal and Turing.

Conclusion
With only two cards and two games, I can't draw a hard conclusion across the board but we can see a tale of two different expectations. High-end enthusiast cards with plenty of VRAM to go around seem to not be impacted at this point, that could easily change over time as this is still a very new feature. BUT, if you're a bit more down the rung and your card has less VRAM or is in the entry to mid-range when we see the GTX 1650 SUPER gain 7-8% performance in Gears Tactics and 8-9% in Forza Horizon 4 there's no denying that this update gives graphics card users in that range a welcome push upwards in performance.
With the latest release of NVIDIA's GeForce 451.48 WHQL driver we see the first full Direct X12 Ultimate compliant support from any GPU maker.
AMD, where are you, AMD ?

AMD Hints at More Than 4 GB Graphics Memory As Standard on Next-Gen Radeon RX Graphics Card
In a recent blog post, AMD might have hinted at the end of the 4 GB entry-level graphics cards era as we get closer to the launch of thefirst RDNA 2 powered Radeon RX graphics cards.

Would love to, but unfortunately not happening. My VGA rig isn't on 2005 yet, and i'm busy with upgrading the ssd rig to pcie 4, and working on upcoming cpu reviews.

Test yourself....:p
I don't have access to my gaming rig this week (holiday), so that's why I was looking for this HAGS on/off fps.
