Still weak laptop batteries around?

Though many manufacturers like Benq, Dell, Hitachi, Lenovo, Samsung and Apple too recalled nearly 10 million laptop batteries last year it seems they missed some of the flawed batteries in question. An Australian Apple MacBook owner woke up this Monday morning finding his notebook, the desk and some magazins around on fire. He was charging the batterie overnight which was reportedly not one of the ones to be replaced by Apple. So as long as this case is not clarified you still should keep an eye on your notebook regardless the manufacturer I would say.
The Apple Service already reacted and guaranteed him to replace the old model with a new MacBook Pro and take care of the damaged furniture.

char and ash does make quite a good colour scheme but on a serious note that is one lucky guy, this could have easily turned into a fatality had they been a heavy sleeper.

laptop population: 120 million.
Burnt laptops: 12

I'd say you've got pretty safe odds.

well cause apple sucks, they mis advertise they always send me emails about getting a "mac" cause there "So much better than a pc", if you knew half of what i know about apple you'd understand, its like...getting lied to ..right to your face over and over again, the ONLY thing macs are good for are editing videos and music, other than that they are worthless...

macs take about average 5-7 minutes to boot up...

my pc takes about 1 1/2 to be fully ready to use

my girlfriend has a macbook pro, and the sims 1 on it...

it runs like dog shit...mac's arn't ment for games...

see the thing about mac is, there all full of lies and cheats....do you know how mac got its operating system?...they stole it from Xerox...yes Xerox, why do you think that you dont hear anything about "piracy" really with a mac, because Steve Jobbs would sound like a douche bag..if he tried to put anti piracy on his software,.

i dont want to get into this arguing mac's and pc's.. put it this way

i work at a computer shop i am a computer tech, i've had my share of both mac's and pc's in the tech room to fix...

i know both operating systems inside out...macs aren't really "sufficient" for todays standards...

/end rant.

Honestly, I found all this very entertaining(the content within), as I'm sure many others do too.

Aside from the fact sony makes the exorbitant large majorty of defective batterys. :) (but I bet you'd take a vaio without hesitation)

most pc users have one against apple simply because they are unable to accept that somethings different, and windows isn't all its cracked(HAH! CRACKED! I MADE A FUNNIEZ) up to be.

Call it personal preference, or whatever you want, dell still had to recall more batteries

Wait.

THATS A POWERBOOK.

(The macbook pro doesn't have that style lock around the battery)

That battery's at MINIMUM, a year and a half old. Likely more.
