JBL Announces the Tour PRO 3 with Auracast Support and Audio Transmitting Charging Case

JBL, a trailblazer in audio technology, has announced the new JBL Tour PRO 3, the most advanced True Wireless Stereo (TWS) earbuds yet. With the introduction of dual drivers, JBL Spatial 360 with Head Tracking, True Adaptive Noise Cancellation 2.0, and a Smart Charging Case packing truly unique features, JBL Tour PRO 3 redefines the TWS listening and user experience.

Seamless Convenience with 'Everywhere Entertainment'
At the forefront of the JBL Tour PRO 3's innovations is the second-generation Smart Charging Case. The case not only provides full control of the earbud features, but also acts as a wireless audio transmitter, enabling 'Everywhere Entertainment' from any USB or analog source such as an inflight entertainment system. Simply plug in the charging case for an instant and automatic connection to your earbuds.
Better yet, the direct connection between case and earbuds is more stable, and lower latency, than Bluetooth, making it the perfect companion for gaming, calls, movies and music.

JBL Tour PRO 3 is JBL's first TWS model with full Auracast functionality. Easily share audio content with any Auracast-enabled device using the Auracast button on the Smart Charging Case display. Or join an existing broadcast by simply tapping in with the case and accompanying app.

The redesigned Smart Charging Case now features a 30% larger screen than its predecessor, all wrapped in a smaller, more pocketable package. The screen provides seamless control over music playback, call management, access to ID3 Tag, caller ID and media file information, and more without needing to access your phone.

Immersive JBL Spatial 360 with Head Tracking
The JBL Tour PRO 3 has also been upgraded to include new JBL Spatial 360 and Head Tracking technology from any audio source. Whether watching a movie or playing video games, this technology transforms stereo sound into a fully immersive and lifelike audio experience.

Legendary JBL Pro Sound

No matter what you are listening to, enjoy it in excellent quality. JBL Tour PRO 3 boasts a hybrid dual driver system in each earbud, a first for JBL TWS, delivering JBL's legendary Pro Sound. The balanced armature driver handles the high notes with enhanced clarity, freeing the 11 mm dynamic driver to provide powerful, cleaner bass and vivid vocals. With a dedicated DAC for each driver reproducing a specific part of the frequency range from 20 Hz to 40 kHz, enjoy every detail in stunning definition, closer than ever to studio sound reproduction.

Further enhancing audio quality, the Hi-Res certified wireless audio codec LDAC, delivers three times more data than the standard Bluetooth codecs, resulting in exceptional high resolution sound.

"JBL Tour PRO 3 introduces a brand-new audio platform developed for sonic excellence as it sets new standards in customization, performance, and convenience. I am particularly excited by the new generation Smart Charging Case because the new audio transmitter technology is unique as it unlocks so many potential scenarios for improving audio quality and enhancing the listening experience," said Carsten Olesen, President of Consumer Audio at HARMAN.

Adaptive Listening Experience
Designed to deliver excellent audio quality no matter the setting, the JBL Tour PRO 3 comes equipped with JBL's newest True Adaptive Noise Cancellation 2.0 technology. This advanced system measures noise levels at a rate of over 50,000 times per second and adapts to environmental changes while compensating for sound leakage.

For the best comfort and performance, JBL Tour PRO 3 ships with an extensive selection of ear tip options. Find your perfect fit with five different sized silicon and one additional set of foam ear tips.

With six microphones and a hydrodynamic windproof design, Tour PRO 3 ensures clear and undistorted voice transmission during calls. The earbuds use a new, proprietary, JBL Crystal AI call algorithm to enhance clarity even in noisy environments. Your voice will now not only be clear in places with low frequency stationary noises such as traffic and in a subway, but also in situations with more sudden high frequency noises such as coffee shops.

Further enhance your calling experience with the new smart call equalizer, Voice Call. This features a sound level optimizer which helps reduce the volume of loud talkers or amplify quiet talkers.

Personalized, Inside and Out
For a fully personalized sound, the Personi-fi 3.0 hearing test offers a customized sound profile. This JBL algorithm accurately measures and adjusts for individual hearing profiles using 12 bands for EQ compensation and 14 warble tones. The adjustments are now made separately for each ear, providing the most personalized listening experience to date.

Additionally, JBL Tour PRO 3 allows users to personalize the display lock screen and wallpaper with any photo and supports display commands in 13 languages.

The JBL Tour PRO 3 will be available on JBL.com in Black and Latte starting September 22, 2024, retailing for $299.99.

Hate these "True" wireless earphones, but that addition of display on case is even worse. Sweaty/wet pockets end up providing a lot phantom inputs or damaging touchscreens(have replaced displays on phones thanks to sweat leading to long term damage).

You do understand the reason for it here though, no? The case can act as an audio transmitter when connected to devices that lack Bluetooth and with Auracast you can even broadcast to multiple devices at once.
Personally I'm a huge fan of my Sony TWS earbuds, even though they have an expiration rate like all these products, due to the batteries not being user replaceable.

Its not just the batteries that are a problem but also tendency of those earbuds to be easily misplaced, I regularly find them in random public places(most recent one was in a bus). Personally I am using JBL cheapest wireless earphones(215BT) just for calls. So that case is similar to any desktop wireless device that comes with USB trasmitter but with a battery(which also has expiration).

Not been an issue for me and I have never found any earbuds either, even though I've heard of people losing them.

I was about say... if you sweat enough to damage electronics/produce phantom input, whatever you are doing seems to require special gear :D. If it's because of the heatwave, I don't think we've reached a point yet where hardware manufacturers will design consumer-level gear to operate in +50°c conditions. Not until that becomes a common occurrence in the West at least.

I spend quite a lot of my free time in Humid rainforests of Western ghats, and I have seen electronics failures(even for specially designed gear, some devices acting up while in Humid enviornment but returning to normal operation when out of rainforest into much drier enviornment). Also time to design equipment for extreme heatwaves was 4-5 years back now things have gotten out of hand even for people in Europe, let alone Asia and Africa which generally has "hot" summers(with 2024 being the worst on record).

I was in Europe when some of those +40°c heatwaves were going on, It's hot, but not the same kind of hot that you would feel in the tropic, it's very dry, and it's easier for sweat to turn into salt.
Near 50°c in the tropics is insane.

The only moment where you'll convince people (and companies) that they need tropicalized gear is when the regular stuff will be guaranteed to malfunction, and from my exp, they can still take the abuse...for now. I mean, AC still didn't manage to have a breakthrough in many parts of Europe because they don't feel like it's worth investing in something that is only going to be used for a couple of months each year. They would rather invest in sun-blocking blinds.

Meanwhile, I live on an island that never saw temperatures higher than 36°c, but AC is very common because it's just a bit hot all the time
