Acer Registers Multiple Radeon RX 9060 XT SKUs with 16 GB & 8 GB Memory Configs

Last week, AMD teased an upcoming launch of Radeon RX 9060 Series graphics cards. A Q2 2025 release window was mentioned at the tail end of their special RDNA 4 conference event, held in Beijing on February 28. TechPowerUp's GPU database has listed a mysterious Radeon RX 9060 XT 12 GB model for the past month (or two); this entry was updated with new information last week. Speculative points of interest include a "Navi 48 LE" GPU variant, GDDR6 memory (with an 128-bit interface), and 150 W TDP rating. Since then, leakers have proposed various Radeon RX 9060-class configurations and generated theories about performance. In search of concrete evidence, harukaze5719 turned to a trusty source of pre-launch info: EEC registries.

Earlier today, the South Korean PC hardware enthusiast discovered freshly-lodged Acer model names and codes. Easily identifiable unannounced SKUs include the Predator BiFrost RX 9060 XT OC 16 GB and RX 9060 XT OC 8 GB cards. Various "AN-RX9060XT-XXX-OCC" and "PB-RX9060XT-XXX-OCC" identifiers suggest a well-populated lineup of "Acer Nitro" and "Predator BiFrost" budget-friendly options. The Taiwanese manufacturer has already launched related Radeon RX 9070 XT and RX 9070 models at retail. According to the VideoCardz insider network, Team Red and board partners are tipped to release the cheaper end of RDNA 4 in April. The Radeon RX 9060 Series could launch within the same timeframe as rumored 16 GB and 8 GB GeForce RTX 5060 variants.

unfortunate to still see 8gb as an option

I see 8, 12, and 16GB skus. So I’m guessing the 12GB cards will use 1.5/3gb modules?

Sounds too Nvidia-ish to have a similarly named card with 192-bit and 128-bit buses (like 3060 and 3060 8GB). Mixed density chips hasn't been a thing since the GTX 600 series.

My best guess is that those 8GB ones are some OEM cards. Though wonder what the bus width would be, either 128-bit or 256-bit. A 256-bit one would have its shaders cut pretty heavily to prevent the cannibalization of 9070 series. 12GB with the shader amount of 9070 would make a lot more sense, just like RX 5600 XT was mostly a RX 5700 with just a cut-down memory amount and bus (and 1MB cut from cache).

my guess:

9060 XT - 12GB, 192 bit bus
9060 - 8GB and 16GB, 128 bit bus

Do they even exist yet? 192-bit bus is the most likely thing with 12GB cards.

They do. Only problem with 192-bits is the increased chip complexity. I don’t think AMD would do that but they’re welcome to prove me wrong.

Aren't they setting themselves up for the same issue they had with the 7600 cards? 8 GB isn't enough and 16 GB increases cost by too much to be price competitive.

If it's HHHL, I'm cool with it and will pick it up. Otherwise, DOA at any price.

They are using the older GDDR6 which has tanked in price recently. No way it's going to drastically increase cost too much, an extra 8GB in bulk is currently anywhere from like 12-16 dollars.

They can easily have more ram than NVidia's base model 5060 and still undercut it price wise especially given how high the 5000 series prices have been

If this is true, DOA! Should of been 12GB standard with 192bit memory buswidth. I'm disgusted GPU manufacturers still using 128bit memory buswidths, what is this 2006??

9060 XT - 12GB, 192 bit bus
9060 - 8GB and 16GB, 128 bit bus
Sounds reasonable.
Also:
9060 XT - Navi 48 LE in unknown configuration,
9060 - Navi 44.
