Sapphire TriXX Beta Up.....

ZOMGOMGOMG it all finally works for me! Second card being clocked too and it's showing such under load on both in GPU-Z. Woooo so relieved and pleased. Thanks W1zz for this tool and trying to help!

Though it wasn't perfect, but that's nothing outrageous of course. UPLS disable didn't take the very first time I checked it. Froze as soon as I moved clocks then after reboot it wasn't checked anymore. A second time did the trick (also searched registry after that and was 0).

Hey guys! Just wanted to say hi! Made an account quite some time ago, never really used it all that much, but anyways. I really just had a question, i noticed that there is 2 products on Sapphire's page that do not have voltage support. Down below is what my 3 cards happens to be, and i kind of sucks that i can't really over volt at the moment. Where is epic rage face when you need it lols. I was wondering if wizzard could grace me with his present (I am assuming that he makes trixx). Is it going to be possible in the future? Or is my card a non reference design?

21187-00

HD6970 2G GDDR5 PCI-E

Very nice job, Wiz! I'm finally able to change voltages on my Sapphire Vapor-X 5870!

nobody seems to be puzzled or concerned about the fact that on 69xx cards the voltage can't be changed, even if on the release notes it's declared as feasible...

no support for HD 69xx using volterra yet

we are working on volterra support, you can use msi afterburner in the meantime

TriXX OC Utility beta V3.0.4

http://www.megaupload.com/?d=XNXI443R

Quote:
1. Improved fan control to use less CPU resource.
2. Improved text rendering quality, in settings dialog for example.
3. When changing clock, AMD PowerTune setting is not reset to 0 as in previous versions.
4. Add GPU overvolting support on SAPPHIRE HD6950 and HD6970. Please refer to TriXX product support table.
5. Add hardware monitor gadget.

Especially #3 are really got news and working like a charm!
This was the reason for me to change to TRIXX 3.0.4 from Afterburner 2.1.0!

Manny Thanks W1zzard!

Hi!

Hello to everyone!

This is my first post on this forum, nice to meet you all.

Well, I acquire a Sapphire HD 6950, model 21188-00-40R and, accordingly the Sapphire's website, this card actually don't have voltage support.
I tried change the voltage via smartdoctor, msi afterburner, trixx, gpu tool and nothing works...
What I do ? Wait for a program support ? Please, I need help and sorry for my english. :)

Did you try turning on the UnofficialOverclocking function in MSI Afterburner? If yes then it seems Sapphire has kept their word on no voltage control.

I have no voltage on my Vapor-X 5850 rev2 board as well with no control through MSI Afterburner or Trixx or RBE. So some cards must not have voltage control or nobody programed for them?

I'm sorry if this question has ben answered elsewhere, it's not an easy thing to search for. There's Afterburner and TriXXX, which seem to do a similar thing, and are (I think!) written by the same chap for the respective companies. There's also AMD Overdrive which has at least some of the features. Are there any others?

RBE is you want to edit the bios directly to make voltage and clock speed settings of your choice the default without the need of a program. However AMD\ATI drivers have control over fan speeds so even a bios edit doesn't help for fan speeds. If you want adjustable fan controls Trixx or Afterburner is pretty much your best bet.

Another program I have not personally used in many years is "RivaTuner"

Yes, RivaTuner used to be what I used - I haven't really looked at graphics cards in years, I sorted my 8800 GTX to a decent overclock and had no reason to revisit it. Now that I'm on a different card then I do have reason. Thanks cu4now :)

I have tried, i use AB for quite some time for the sweet goodness of overvolting. Just not able to with these. At stock voltages i can benchmark with unigine maxed out with extreme tess at 1920x1080 at gpu core speeds of 950mhz across 3 6970's. It is the only Gpu's on sappire's website as not be list as supported under their trix utility. Does anyone know if they will offer support yet?

New version 3.0.5 released with overvolt support for Sapphire FleX HD6870 1G(11179-02) and Sapphire HD6870 1G(11179-09).

:( Hopefully soon they will update it to support voltage on my 6970. But it seems like they are keeping it up to date and adding things as we go along, either way, good work!

Yeah I do get the 100% GPU usage on second card after clocking with Trixx but it doesnt seem to do it all the time and also behaves properly once I go in game according to GPU-Z monitoring. Probably not a good idea to have Trixx restore clocks at startup though.

we are working on volterra support

Question about this.

When I view my current sensor screen and compare it to the OP.

I'm missing quite a few extra readings.

vs

I picked up a Sapphire 6950 yesterday and so far did a shader unlock

Also cannot adjust Voltage in Trixx with the current version.

It looks good so far great work.

So is this app just a version of MSI Afterburner and EVGA precision but for AMD/ATI cards?

(TL;DR)

Did you try turning on the UnofficialOverclocking function in MSI Afterburner? If yes then it seems Sapphire has kept their word on no voltage control.

I already tried this without success. I try almost things, but I still can't get voltage control.
I think this is a problem with my model: 21188-00 / 102-C21601-00-AT
The Sapphire Trixx website says that my model isn't supported, but I don't know why (different voltage regulator, maybe)...
Well, I still have hope.

Has trixx been locked down to prevent non sapphire cards from working now or is catalyst 11.4 doing something to prevent me from changing voltage?

Just wondering as I just tried trixx 3.0.5 and this version of 3.0.6 but neither work.

I'm currently running the XFX 6870 Black Edition bios's on both of my sapphire 6870's and figured I'd just ask rather then mess about flashing my bios's again and having to reinstall drivers etc.... lazy i know

It seems as if we are in the same boat together, yay! Hopefully they will add support. Just got to be patient. I tried flashing my Bios and that did not seem to help. Please overlords of sapphire trixx, i beg of you! Have mercy on us loners!
