I have played all three classes in the past, but never really got far in the game before something else distracted me... I decided I am going to do a full playthrough, no longer putting it off. I enjoy this game and I need to give it a proper playthrough. As long as it is though, I only get one playthrough, I am not playing this game more than once; it is going to be 100+ hours probably...

So, class with the highest votes is the class I am going to play. Poll closes Monday the 29th of May.

Also, any mod recommendations are welcome. I don't want anything crazy though, base game is fun enough for me.

Defo any spellcaster, pick fun schools :) I think DA nailed the magic combat too, in Origins. In 2 and Inquisition its interchangeable with any other skillset.

And its broken af

Rouge, because I'm sneaky. What is more important IMO is your characters background...

And no mods. They are not necesseray for the game, and most of them are cosmetical anyway.

good to know, and yeah if there is a tie between two classes, I will be picking mage because they have such a unique starting area from what I remember, very creative.

what do you mean by charachters background? do you mean I need to be careful when I select options in the story, or do you mean embrace the true dungeons and dragons aspect of role playing?

Played a warrior class and did quite well with it.
The other classes are fine, it's really about your style of play that will make what you pick a good or bad choice.

If you like being in the thick of it a warrior is what to play, or maybe moving around while sniping from the edges a rogue is appropriate..... And if you like just blasting stuff with effect, a mage is the best pick.
just remember the weaknesses/vulnerabilities of each class too.

I played a dual wield warrior

Rouge, because I'm sneaky.

every time I spec rouge in a RPG, I always end up red in the face

I don't understand the reference here, can you clarify? is this in regards to rogues having light armor and just dying really quick?

I'm guessing I played warrior but I honestly don't remember... Last time I played that game was like in 2010.

i'd say all of them ... but i enjoyed rogue quite a bit ...

now you make me want to replay DA

well, the 100+ hour commitment has always kept me away from it. but if you load the game up on a 27" 1440p screen and max out the settings, it honestly holds up really well, looks next gen in some cases. imo anyway. scales really nicely at 1440p.

I think even with all the DLC it took me like 30 hours to beat it. I don't remember there really being any worthwhile side stuff.

Those people must have spent a lot of time in the menu lol.

Maybe that includes playing through all the different origins and all 3 different classes. There are 6 different origin quest if I am remembering correctly.

I don't think that is the case. Maybe you missed one of the DLC's? I don't know. Or maybe you just were a lot faster at the combat/ didn't do much side quests. No big deal either way, I am looking forward to this playthrough.

i did the completionist  DA: O/DA: O-A were pure pleasure ... DA2 was nice too (surprisingly i did enjoy it)
iirc i did roughly 90ish hours and i was pretty thorough ... so i guess 16hrs in menu isn't far from the truth for a 106hrs

and i need to start DA:I since i got it on the cheap on STEAM.

Maybe I need to do a re playthrough I just don't remember it being very long and I beat it thoroughly on console and PC and did all the DLC, All the DLC take less than a couple hours each to beat from what I remember.

There are some decent mods for it on Nexus from what I remember as well.

I know it makes me sound like a spaz, but I honestly don't think I'd enjoy this game on console, or even at 1080p on PC, I am not sure what the hell magic happens when this game is run at 27" 1440p, but everything just looks so damn perfect... the clarity, the UI spacing, the tactical aspect of battles, etc.

also, side note, its a great game to use with my naga x, which i have mastered the number buttons with my thumb. so i should be able to be quite fast and tactical

it sucked ass on console.

I think you all are trolling me now, lmao

RIP. well my indecision on class is still present, oh well still have until Monday.

I am leaning towards Mage, and Warrior as second... I think I would enjoy Rogue, but I am not sure how well polished Rogue is, I heard its the weakest of the three based on my initial research.

Nah - I don't believe you're being trolled, it's just some like one style of play and others have a different preference.

You are correct - It has six origin stories, split between the three classes evenly.
Where you start off in the game on the map (Location) also differs but you eventually arrive at the same point in the game and go from there.

BTW, be sure to run down, lie and kill the messenger in the first camp for the sword so some poor, bewildered knight is having to fight with a dinner fork. :D

Roll a dice.

When in doubt, re-roll

There's 16 hours of gameplay there easily :p Spent in the menu... :)

Why is rouge the weakest?

And about the lenght, 100 hours is insane for this game. I was pretty thorough in my playthrough (with all DLC) and it's maybe 30 to 40 hours. Maybe 100 hours if you have to reload a lot and you read EVERYTHING, and do EVERYTHING with EVERY companion.

honestly I don't know, just something I read on Gamefaqs or something a long ass time ago. please diregard that comment.

I am going to by abide by the poll results which class I pick, vote vote vote!!!!

you forgot the 4th option "None because the frame rate on PS3 was giving me headaches." :(
