The FirePro W9000 was a enthusiast-class professional graphics card by AMD, launched in June 2012. Built on the 28 nm process, and based on the Tahiti graphics processor, in its Tahiti XT GL variant, the card supports DirectX 12.0. The Tahiti graphics processor is a large chip with a die area of 352 mm² and 4,313 million transistors. It features 2048 shading units, 128 texture mapping units and 32 ROPs. AMD has placed 6,144 MB GDDR5 memory on the card, which are connected using a 384-bit memory interface. The GPU is operating at a frequency of 975 MHz, memory is running at 1375 MHz.
Being a dual-slot card, the AMD FirePro W9000 draws power from 1x 6-pin + 1x 8-pin power connectors, with power draw rated at 274 W maximum. Display outputs include: 6x mini-DisplayPort, 1x SDI. FirePro W9000 is connected to the rest of the system using a PCI-Express 3.0 x16 interface. The card measures 279 mm in length, and features a dual-slot cooling solution. Its price at launch was 3999 US Dollars.
