The GeForce GTX 1060 Mobile was a mobile graphics chip by NVIDIA, launched on August 15th, 2016. Built on the 16 nm process, and based on the GP106 graphics processor, in its N17E-G1-A1 variant, the chip supports DirectX 12. This ensures that all modern games will run on GeForce GTX 1060 Mobile. The GP106 graphics processor is an average sized chip with a die area of 200 mm² and 4,400 million transistors. It features 1280 shading units, 80 texture mapping units, and 48 ROPs. NVIDIA has paired 6 GB GDDR5 memory with the GeForce GTX 1060 Mobile, which are connected using a 192-bit memory interface. The GPU is operating at a frequency of 1405 MHz, which can be boosted up to 1671 MHz, memory is running at 2002 MHz (8 Gbps effective).
Being a mxm module card, the NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1060 Mobile does not require any additional power connector, its power draw is rated at 80 W maximum. This device has no display connectivity, as it is not designed to have monitors connected to it. Rather it is intended for use in laptop/notebooks and will use the output of the host mobile device. GeForce GTX 1060 Mobile is connected to the rest of the system using a PCI-Express 3.0 x16 interface.
