The GeForce MX550 is a mobile graphics chip by NVIDIA, launched on December 17th, 2021. Built on the 12 nm process, and based on the TU117SB graphics processor, in its TU117-670-A1 variant, the chip supports DirectX 12. This ensures that all modern games will run on GeForce MX550. The TU117SB graphics processor is an average sized chip with a die area of 200 mm² and 4,700 million transistors. It features 1024 shading units, 32 texture mapping units, and 16 ROPs. NVIDIA has paired 2,048 MB GDDR6 memory with the GeForce MX550, which are connected using a 64-bit memory interface. The GPU is operating at a frequency of 1065 MHz, which can be boosted up to 1320 MHz, memory is running at 1500 MHz (12 Gbps effective). Its power draw is rated at 25 W maximum. This device has no display connectivity, as it is not designed to have monitors connected to it. Rather it is intended for use in laptop/notebooks and will use the output of the host mobile device. GeForce MX550 is connected to the rest of the system using a PCI-Express 4.0 x8 interface.
