The Radeon HD 5690 was a graphics card by ATI, launched on February 1st, 2011. Built on the 40 nm process, and based on the Redwood graphics processor, in its Redwood XT variant, the card supports DirectX 11.2. The Redwood graphics processor is an average sized chip with a die area of 104 mm² and 627 million transistors. It features 400 shading units, 20 texture mapping units, and 8 ROPs. ATI has paired 1,024 MB GDDR3 memory with the Radeon HD 5690, which are connected using a 128-bit memory interface. The GPU is operating at a frequency of 775 MHz, memory is running at 1000 MHz. Being a single-slot card, its power draw is rated at 64 W maximum. Display outputs include: 1x DVI, 1x HDMI 1.3a, 1x VGA. Radeon HD 5690 is connected to the rest of the system using a PCI-Express 2.0 x16 interface. The card measures 168 mm in length, and features a single-slot cooling solution.
