The Radeon RX 6550M is a mobile graphics chip by AMD, launched on January 4th, 2023. Built on the 6 nm process, and based on the Navi 24 graphics processor, in its Navi 24 variant, the chip supports DirectX 12 Ultimate. This ensures that all modern games will run on Radeon RX 6550M. Additionally, the DirectX 12 Ultimate capability guarantees support for hardware-raytracing, variable-rate shading and more, in upcoming video games. The Navi 24 graphics processor is an average sized chip with a die area of 107 mm² and 5,400 million transistors. It features 1024 shading units, 64 texture mapping units, and 32 ROPs. The card also has 16 raytracing acceleration cores. AMD has paired 4 GB GDDR6 memory with the Radeon RX 6550M, which are connected using a 64-bit memory interface. The GPU is operating at a frequency of 2000 MHz, which can be boosted up to 2840 MHz, memory is running at 2250 MHz (18 Gbps effective). Its power draw is rated at 80 W maximum. This device has no display connectivity, as it is not designed to have monitors connected to it. Rather it is intended for use in laptop/notebooks and will use the output of the host mobile device. Radeon RX 6550M is connected to the rest of the system using a PCI-Express 4.0 x4 interface.
