CM Storm Announces Inferno MMO Gaming Mouse

Making its debut at Quakecon, Dallas Texas the first MMO-built gaming mouse from CM Storm is set to take the gaming world by storm, giving you the edge over the competition. The Inferno, armed with a 4000 DPI twin laser sensor, 128 KB of onboard Sentinel-X memory and the brand new Storm Tactics Multiplayer key will evoke your killer instinct.

Accuracy in movement is just as important in an MMO as it is in a FPS game and that's why the Inferno is equipped with a 4000 DPI twin laser sensor with a custom laser engine. This also means that the Inferno is excellent for playing a wide variety of other games and not just MMO's. You do of course have full control over the DPI setting and you can store up to three custom game profiles thanks to 128kb of onboard Sentinel-X memory. The profiles can retain macros, scripts and just about any other customization you can come up with and it's as simple as pressing a button to switch between your profiles.

WarMouse Rolls Out OOMouse, Combines Productivity with Utility

Here's a mouse that takes macro-bound multi-button design to a whole new level. The OOMouse from WarMouse crams over 18 buttons. The last time someone got this generous with buttons, was Razer, with its Naga MMO mouse that offers up to 12 macro buttons. The OOMouse on the other hand, isn't intended to be a gaming mouse, quite the opposite, it carries the OpenOffice.org branding, and offers that many buttons to improve productivity, after of course getting used to bending your neck to look for the right button, compared to simply moving the pointer to macro buttons on screen, or using keyboard shortcuts.

"The WarMouse team have worked closely with experts from the OpenOffice.org user experience project to deliver the full benefits of the world's leading open-source office software to the fingertips of users," says John McCreesh, marketing project lead at OpenOffice.org. Using its 18 programmable mouse buttons, clickable scroll wheel, three different button modes (key, keypress, and macro), and up to 16 macros on a joystick, on the left-side of it, the OOMouse can perform 52 different actions with the touch of a button. Unintentionally, it can also help MMO gamers thanks to its 1600 dpi optical sensor. The resolution of this sensor can be adjusted between 400 and 1600 dpi.

Gaming hardware specialist Razer announced two products designed for the MMORPG crowd. The Naga MMO mouse, and the extra-large Megasome mouse-pad to go with it. To begin with, Naga boards of a 12-button thumb-pad that lets you assign as many as 12 macros apart from this, the upper thumb are has two buttons next to the mouse's main buttons, and four-way scroll-wheel. Under its hood is a 5600 dpi 3.5g Laser sensor. With the Ultrapolling feature, the mouse ensures a high polling rate for its USB interface, boosting accuracy, with a response time of 1 ms. The mouse lets you use game-specific addon packs (that probably come with pre-defined button profiles that work well for most players). The software allows you to store unlimited character profiles. Measuring approximately 116L x 69W x 41.6H mm, Naga is an upper-mid-sized mouse. Razer will start selling these for around US $80 soon.

As its sidekick is the Megasome white gaming mouse-pad. It comes in an extra-large size of 350 x 230 x 2 mm, and makes use of a silicone mat for just the right traction. The surface is white fluorescent for an ambient glow. It is expected to be priced at $50.
