NVIDIA Announces Gears of War 4 Bundle with Select GeForce GTX GPUs

NVIDIA today announced that it is bundling "Gears of War 4" with GeForce GTX 1080, and GeForce GTX 1070 graphics cards, and notebooks powered by mobile variants of the GTX 1080 and GTX 1070. What's more, the game will be given away as an Xbox Anywhere digital entitlement, so you can enjoy not just its PC version with eye-candy maxed out, but also its Xbox One version in your living room.

Microsoft recommends GeForce GTX 1080 as the "ideal" solution for "Gears of War 4" at 4K Ultra HD (3840 x 2160 pixels) resolution. It also finds that a GeForce GTX 1060 should have the muscle for running the game at WQHD (2560 x 1440 pixels). A GeForce GTX 750 Ti should handle 1080p. NVIDIA also set up this page, which helps you locate which retailer in your country is running the promotion.

well at least you can sell the code for a few quid and get some money back. Probably going to be a shit game anyway. Just another 3rd person shooter console port from Epic Games. who supposedly once said they were done with making games for the PC market because of piracy

What about all those people who do not have an Xbox and only played the first gears of war? Does it make sense to skip 2 and 3 and go straight to 4 story-wise?

Id prefer the original Quake or something half fun...

GOW is okay but its just ... something so Microsoft about it...

they take a game eg unreal 1 /2 remove guns bastardize the story then call it halo... Its a very bland game but people lose there mind..

What? The 750 Ti is a 2 1/2-year old mid-range card that can barely muster 30-40 fps in most AAA games at 1080p with high detail settings. The performance gap between GTX 1060 (roughly equivalent to the GTX 980) and the GTX 750 Ti is astronomical. Graphics settings will need to be turned way down if you want to play at 1080p on a 750 Ti at 60 fps.

Not really. It had an interesting story, full of testosterone and machismo, but interesting.

MGS 5 reappeared on PC 12 years after MGS 2, skipping MGS 3, MGS 4 and Peacewalker and people are still OK with it. And this game has more complex story line than Gears of War.

Its not developed by Epic Games. Its developed by a new studio made up of a handful of main people behind all the other gears of war from Epic Games called The Coalition.

Don't knock it till ya try it bud, and besides epic isn't involved in gow4 lol

Plus it should be a win win for console owners too, have gears 4 on the PC and get it on the console as well for free.. A double whammy.

Actually the 750 Ti was an entry level Maxwell GPU. The bottom of the Maxwell stack along with the 750. It's possible that the 750 Ti could handle this game at 1080p if it's not very demanding but I don't put much stock in publishers/developers recommendations as there are no standards out there.

Sadly amazon was not able to provide me a code. They did offer me a refund on the game if I ordered it, but I wouldn't know how to ask for that. Oh well, if it's not on steam, I won't bother.

I got my 1080 like two weeks ago with the Paragon bundle that I am not going to use, I would've preferred this game instead... :(

I thought GoW4 was just the Frankenstein that had DX11 added onto the ten year old GoW and sold in the Windows store (and came out running horribly)? Or is this a separate one actually coming to PC too?

That was just a remake of the first GoW as the first project for The Coalition. Gears of War 4 is a start of a new story and new characters. Marcus and Anya had a son and you play as him.

I was not OK with it. I did not buy MGS5.. Besides, there was no MGS2 remaster. Microsoft released a remaster for the first GOW on PC, which already had a PC version, and skipped 2 and 3 again. Which makes it double stupid IMO.

I think the problem here is that the PC platform/community doesnt have any choice but to take whatever scraps it is fed. Microsoft is too busy promoting Xbox as it 'ultimate in gaming experience' to really care about their more 'intelligent child' with straight A's, Degrees and Diploma's.
