SpellForce 3 Arrives On GOG for Free Preview Weekend

SpellForce 3 returns to the roots of the SpellForce saga. Taking place before the acclaimed SpellForce: The Order of Dawn, players will unravel a deep and epic story in the SpellForce universe with over 30 hours of a single-player campaign, that is also playable in Coop. Additional multiplayer modes offer competitive battles for up to six players. Create your own heroes, develop your skillset and build your own army to fight in legendary battles with gameplay that expertly blends the RTS and top-down RPG genres together.

SpellForce 3 is launching on December 7, 2017 on PC and will be available with English and German Voice Over plus full text localization in French, Spanish, Italian, Polish, Russian and Simplified Chinese.

About SpellForce 3:
  • RTS/RPG mix: unique gameplay that combines the genre of a real-time strategy and a top-down role play game.
  • Create and customize: create your group of heroes and choose a number of different combos with a range of skill structures.
  • Boost and command your army: Prepare your troops and fight the greatest of all battles. You can also exploit numerous strategic aspects (e.g. terrain, troop formations, visibility, exploration, etc.), that would make Sun Tzu proud!
  • Epic storyline: Unravel a deep and complex plot that eventually leads up to the events that trigger the Convocation ritual, which will change the whole world.
  • Extensive universe and lots of loot: Explore the world of Eo, discover intrigues and secrets and collect a whole load of loot for your hero.
  • Complex single-player campaign: Over 30 hours of gameplay time, and even more if you're able to discover everything Grimlore Games has incorporated into the game world.
  • Multiplayer: Strong multiplayer component with various modes - play in versus battles with up to 6 Players or master the single-player campaign with a friend in coop mode
The free preview will last till November 27 at 11 PM UTC. You can find the free preview of SpellForce 3 here: www.gog.com/game/spellforce_3_free_preview

That is good, I wasn't sure if I like it, before I buy, now I can test it, sad that are few games that let you do that before buy.

I'm worried about the RTS elements. Has anyone tried it yet?

Just played more than 1 hour on my laptop, run smooth, look nice, it feel like Sacred 2, but a little more polished(maybe 15% more), I don't like that is not isometric(like sacred 2), the sound it is good, it have a blur on top of screen(first 20%, maybe to make yo feel dof), and I find this a bad thing. I t look more complex that Sacred 2, it have the voice from Witcher 3 for your hero, the story it is so-so, overall, the game it is a little above mediocre, for me.

Gave it a short try, didn't feel anything like the first Spellforce which I loved. I'm going to play some more this weekend when I have time and will post back.

This is a great idea and always has been! Let people try things out and see if it'll be something they like.

And as opposed to other demos, this isn't levels 1-3 of the campaign, it actually gives you a couple of already leveled up heroes to play with.
I'm not into the game yet though, will give it more time.

Edit: Ok, this is nothing like Spellforce. It's a nice RPG with basic hero progression and you do get a camp to manage. But gameplay-wise, it feel more like Rage of Mages. The visuals are good and the game may turn out ok, just don't expect the Spellforce experience.

Didn't know that. Nice! And agreed.
