Basemark Launches Free Multiplatform GPU Benchmark

Basemark launched today Basemark GPU, a new graphics performance evaluation tool for systems with Vulkan 1.0, OpenGL 4.5 or OpenGL ES 3.1 graphics APIs. This tool enables the industry to objectively and reliably quantify and compare graphics performance of next generation mobile, automotive and desktop processors.

"We have poured all of our soul and expertise in making this product. The work started two and half years ago and this massive project has culminated in today's launch of a true state-of-the-art product," said Arto Ruotsalainen, CEO of Basemark. "We believe Basemark GPU will become an essential tool for anyone tasked to evaluate graphics performance in systems ranging from smart phones, smart TVs and cars to PCs."
Basemark GPU supports multiple operating systems with Android, Windows and Linux support released today. Support for additional graphics APIs such as Metal and DirectX 12 and operating systems such as Apple iOS will be added in the coming months. The product uses Rocksolid Engine by Basemark, which enables the tester to execute identical workloads across many different devices and technologies, thus enabling advanced GPU profiling from many angles.

Basemark GPU is developed in close cooperation with key player semiconductor companies, such as Imagination Technologies, Intel, NVIDIA, Qualcomm and Renesas within Basemark's benchmark development program. This close cooperation with the leading GPU and CPU companies of the world ensures that the benchmark will be extremely reliable and also represent the utmost in objectivity.

Versions and Availability
Basemark GPU is available immediately as a free app for consumer usage from Google Play and here. For commercial and business usage, Basemark offers the tool with various licensing options. Contact Basemark for further information.

Hmmm...Basemark...that rings a bell. Oh yeah...Basemark X! I've run that one a few times on my Android. It's pretty decent. This one should be good too then.

I've seen some weird stuff too. My 1070 was getting about 4900, adding 400Mhz core only got me a max of 5170, and then dropping the clocks back to stock, but upping memory by 500Mhz got me about 5200s. I'm trying to get a stable bench at +813Mhz but it's looking like it might manage 5500s. Crashing during the test actually got me a higher score though. Weird

Also they put me results on the bottom of an unlabeled graph, but since real results wont load on their website, I can't tell if I'm actually way behind

Well it's probably more geared towards to mobile. But other than that, it's quite odd slide show benchmark. Free run shows what is actually rendered, but that bench, custom or actual 4k test, just shows small diashow boxes...

Tried twice and I was seeing the same speed, trying now the speed has doubled but still troublingly slow.
Half way through and it says 26 minutes remaining, I think my new internet plan which was meant to be an upgrade is actually a lot slower :banghead:

edit: it finished downloading and on trying to install I get the error messages vcruntime not found, and MSVCP140.dll not found, reinstalling the program may fix this problem.
Trouble is I've gotten that error message twice already and tried to download 3 times.
