Every now and then, the Epic Games store gets a major discount on popular games. If you have been following the free game deals on the store, you may have seen that sometimes even the AAA-class of games get a free offer and you can purchase them without spending a dime. Today is one of those days where Epic Games store is offering the Control game for free. The offer expires on June 17th, when it again becomes paid offer. If you haven't heard of Control, you can read the the game information below. You can check out the deal here.
After a secretive agency in New York is invaded by an otherworldly threat, you become the new Director struggling to regain Control.
From developer Remedy Entertainment, this supernatural 3rd person action-adventure will challenge you to master the combination of supernatural abilities, modifiable loadouts and reactive environments while fighting through a deep and unpredictable world.
Control is Jesse Faden's story and her personal search for answers as she grows into the role of the Director. The world of Control has its own story, as do the allies Jesse meets along the way. Jesse works with other Bureau agents and discovers strange experiments and secrets.

It's a $30 game normally and is highly rated. I grabbed it earlier today.

I would still rather PAY for the GOG version that has no DRM than use this version for free. And before anyone asks, yes I grabbed this version already for testing.

Do I care enough to give my personal data to yet another scummy corporation for a 20$ handout? Nah, pass. It's a 16 euro game on GOG and I already have an account filled with fake data there.

Too much hassle. Also, on GOG I can download an offline copy without having to install their data mining crapware.

Great game I picked up the Ultimate Edition the last time it was on sale at GOG.com. Great game and the DLCs are intergrated well within the actual core game itself.

i still grab all the free games on epic every week, i have a massive library there now. I have never downloaded the EGS though. i figure even if I never download that client, when my niece gets her own PC (probably in a few years when she is bit older) she will have a MASSIVE collection of games to pick from for free thanks to me.

Added to my library but I probably won't play until I finally upgrade my GPU. There's plenty of backlog left anyway so I'm in no rush.

I got the game on GoG last time a sale came through or....had a special discount email come through, either way I got a copy of the Ultimate Edition for pretty cheap.

It only took about 10 hours to get through the end game. Or at least what seems to be the end game? After the credits you can keep playing and unravel more story, but I thought the game kind of got a little dull. The combat is pretty good for a while, but it just becomes repetitive and some of the powers felt like they took too long to be useful over simply just picking up items and hurling them at bad guys.

I do have to say that I really did enjoy picking up forklifts and hurtling them at bad guys, that was always fun to do.

I already got this game free when I bought the EVGA rtx 2080 super several years ago. I still haven't had time to play it. I got several games on steam that I need to finish playing first.

Anyone ever accidentally leave the Epic launcher running for a while? You come back to the entire right side of the screen covered in ads from it. That's why I hate it. I paid for games, and instead they gave me adware.

That's only under certain conditions. If it's been longer than a certain time, login is required, just like with Steam.

However, we're getting off-topic. Let's rope it in folks..

What,? I have had Steam auto login on boot for year's, then sit idle for weeks without ever signing out or me signing back in.
My pc is typically on for a few weeks at a time.
