Another AMD GPU Designer Joins Intel

Intel is apparently taking its GPU business seriously, at the expense of AMD, as according to an article from CRN, Intel has hired Vineet Goel, former Corporate Vice President GPU architecture, graphics, machine learning and mobile platform at AMD. His new title at Intel is almost as longwinding, as he joined Intel as Vice President and General Manager, GPU architecture and IP engineering.

Goel spent his past five years at AMD and prior to that he was the Director of GPU compute solution and Adreno architecture at Qualcomm, although his first job listed on LinkedIn was as a fellow at AMD. His new position at Intel will have him lead the Xe GPU IP roadmap, or in other words, he'll be the person that decides what kind of tech Intel will be putting in its future GPUs.

seth1911Yeah which Cards can i get here till 250€ from AMD hmmm:
RX 550 2GB 130€
RX 550 4GB 240€

On the Other Hand in this Times i can get a:
GT 1030 GDDR5 90€
GTX 1050TI 160€
GTX 1650 230€

AMD have atm nothing to sell in the Low - Mid price range

And

The CPU Performance was very poor in late Times:
A8 3800 @ 2,6 GHz Scores 476
A10 7870k @ 2,6 GHz Scores 414

But the IGP Performance on GCN is really awfull  a 6 Year Old R7 IGP fuckes Vega 3 and Intel Xe 32:peace:
It's truly terrible you can make that argument, it's true but so totally balls as to be a bit sickening , all old tat low to lower to me, no where near mid.
And not one would I buy even if my GPU blew up.

As for your second comment, 2016 rang and wants it processors back, AMD moved on.

TheLostSwedeSince he was hired while still at AMD by the looks of things, so AMD lost what appears to have been a pretty key employee.

Marsilquote from the article:
Yes, former, as in he left from AMD to go directly to Intel.
I presume you didn't take a look at his LinkedIn page? I did when I wrote the article.
Or is this an English language comprehension problem? When you leave a job, it is your former job, no?

And we're witnessing the effects of Intel having 6.5x more R&D funds and 8x more annual revenue funds than AMD....AMD needs to get a huge cash infusion from a Saudi Oil Prince or something....on another note, the fact that Intel is producing these GPUs on TSMC (or any fab other than their own) means that Intel entering the GPU market will do absolutely NOTHING to increase availability, and in fact will probably only making it worse now that the pie has to be divided even more ways. This means that Intel's entry will completely fail to bring price down for consumers
