Oh, Razer. I guess you figure there's got to be an enthusiast out there left who likes you, doesn't mind paying your Razer tax, AND can find the parts to build a PC. That lucky unicorn must be prancing around with their pot of gold on the other side of the rainbow.

$45 for a fan (or a set?)
$50 for a fan controller

I can't imagine how many gold pieces they want for the coolers and the PSUs.

Yeah I saw that $45/fan with no listed specs and was immediately reminded why I’ll never by Razer products, despite all the claims of improved management and QC etc

I was anti razer for well over a decade, til i got a second hand razer keyboard and tried synapse.

It's got better features than logitech, and lower resource usage than corsair. It's never crashed on me, ever.
Worst i've had is an issue with the 'forced' logins where it forgot my password (YES there is an offline mode, and it saves your settings)

Will i trust any of this stuff without reviews? Not a chance in hell!

but if that fan controller saves settings internally for static speeds, i can finally ditch my Corsair node pro

Aquacomputer Quadro (or Octo) does exactly that.

Their devices require you to pay for software updates, pass.
It's also ugly as hell, and looks totally unfinished with half a dozen connectors with exposed pins all over the place. How the f*ck does anyone use that molex connector? in the back of a case?

I want devices with generic standards for connectors, with free software, that can save settings internally to run software free. It's not a big ask.

Learned my lesson after I bought Razer Phone 1. That phone was the only phone that wouldn't let me a phone call becoz the phone app kept crashing until they released a firmware update.

Does Razer really sell this thing (not without subscription ... of course) or is Tom's Hardware in some kind of April Fools' Day mode?

They probably suck for a Rad as well because there is no way to make a seal, unlike with the rubber Noctua provides.

Maybe that's their measure against all the PU leather that chafes away over time on gamur product... plastic fantastic.

Honestly if it says gamer gear I'm taking my ten foot pole these days, except for something such as mice... the vast majority is utter overpriced junk and Razer is leading the charge. The fact is though even mice aren't safe, what with the recent 'issue' with Omron switches... Commerce caught on, mass production and max profit is the name of the game, and that's a clear sign to keep the safest possible distance. On to the next new frontier... I reckon office gear, which is held to completely different metrics. But then that was always better already.

I loved there gamepad as I went over from the nostromo to there's when they took nostromo over from Belkin. But all of a sudden one day I could not log on to there software too use my gamepad. Razer tried everything. I hadn't hadn't done any updates so it had to be from there side. As I said loved the product but hate there software. Logitech to me has the best but I'm a noob when it comes to software

MusselsTheir devices require you to pay for software updates, pass.
Their devices come with an update license and the software is free to use. You just don't get access to newer versions than your license includes.
There is barely any reason to buy a new license unless you really want some specific new feature for the few times in a year where you run the software to adjust your settings.
MusselsHow the f*ck does anyone use that molex connector?
By plugging in a Molex connector. SATA isn't designed to handle the up to 100W power draw.

Apart from their proprietary ARGB and miniaturized USB connector it ticks all of your requirements.
This device is literally set and forget. After setting it up it you could disconnect the USB and it will keep doing its thing as long as it's supplied with power.
