Microsoft Improves Xbox Series X/S Boot Times By Up To 5 Seconds
Microsoft has recently published a new build for the Xbox Insider Program which improves boot times for Xbox Series X/S consoles by up to 5 seconds. The improvement only applies to consoles with Energy Saver mode enabled with the total boot time decreasing from 20s to 15s including a new boot animation that has been reduced from nine seconds down to four. The changes will not impact users who are using Standby mode as the console never fully powers off with this enabled which results in higher power consumption. Microsoft made Energy Saver the default power option for consoles earlier this year so these changes should benefit most users when they are rolled out.

Yea I wanna see a more in-depth explanation of whats been changed.
I mean the consoles are crippled media wise, I have an LG TV and it's way better for streaming or playing content from USB HDD, and it is compatible with lots of formats.
This due to Microsoft's stupidity, take the OG Xbox, it was a beast for media when unlocked (hacked).
Microsoft should either unlock the full potential of the box, or let it be a gaming console and free wasted resources to be used for games, as it apparently wastes 3gb of memory on rubbish, while the 360 (blades) with a better UI had a total of 512mb of memory.
User gets 1 (One) Additional tik-tok per bootup That's the codecs costing money - simple as that. It'd be nice if they simply supported the generic codecs, but then they'd get told they're promoting piracy.
PS5 still sits at 630.
As for piracy, I'm not convinced, LG allows its TVs to play all kinds of stuff, pretty sure there are more LG smart TVs than Xboxes.
They already need to pay their licensing fees to sell the product as a TV, so they're included.
It costs them money to add, and won't make them money (unlike adding codecs for say, netflix where they get a %) - remember they have to pay for every unit made/sold for generic offline codec support. This is why most media player boxes are either overpriced or cheap chinese garbage - android devices are about the only devices that let you sideload codecs, it's a niche category (And yes, it annoys me too)
