CORSAIR Launches MP700 PRO PCIe 5.0 x4 M.2 SSDs

CORSAIR, a world leader in enthusiast components for gamers, creators, and PC builders, today announced the launch of the MP700 PRO, its fastest PCIe Gen 5 M.2 SSD to date. Available in capacities up to 4 TB, with three different cooling options, the MP700 PRO sets a new standard for next-generation storage, with sequential read and write performance reaching a phenomenal 12,400 MB/sec and 11,800 MB/sec respectively—that's up to 75% faster than PCIe 4.0 SSDs.

On top of the impressive sequential throughput, the random read and write performance of up to 1.5 million read and 1.6 million write input/output operations per second (IOPS) put the MP700 PRO way ahead of the best PCIe Gen 4 drives. The MP700 PRO is backward compatible with PCIe 4.0 motherboards, making this an upgrade that will last you for years to come. Native support for Microsoft DirectStorage ensures that you'll get the most from the latest games, while copying files in Windows and loading applications has never felt so fast.

Utilizing the industry-standard M.2 2280 form-factor, the MP700 PRO installs easily into desktop motherboards for great all-around compatibility. To achieve its optimal performance, the MP700 PRO requires additional cooling, most commonly using the integrated M.2 cooling provided by the user's motherboard. For those that require a more advanced cooling, the MP700 PRO is available with a stylish fully-assembled Air Cooler, which ensures that the drive is kept cool during operation and performs optimally.

Alternatively, the MP700 PRO Hydro X Series version ships with a pre-assembled water block that fits easily into your custom cooling loop, delivering top-of-the-line cooling and performance while virtually eliminating throughput throttling. This water block is compatible with industry standard 1/4" fittings and is built to the exacting standards that you'd expect from CORSAIR custom cooling hardware.

Like all CORSAIR SSDs, the MP700 PRO is supported by free CORSAIR SSD Toolbox software, enabling convenient features such as secure erase and firmware updates directly from your desktop. With a five-year warranty for extended peace of mind that your storage will remain fast and reliable, the MP700 takes full advantage of PCIe Gen 5 technology to set a new standard for M.2 performance.

Availability, Warranty, and Pricing
The 1 TB and 2 TB CORSAIR MP700 PRO PCIe Gen 5 x4 NVMe M.2 SSDs are available immediately from the CORSAIR webstore and the CORSAIR worldwide network of authorized retailers and distributors. The 4 TB MP700 PRO will be on shelves later this winter.

The MP700 PRO is backed by a five-year warranty, alongside the CORSAIR worldwide customer service and technical support network.

What’s the sustained write speed after the buffer/cache runs out ?

How the hell do you even connect that if you have both a CPU and GPU block ? Looks like an absolute clusterfuck nightmare of tubes and for what ?

I have one of these for the MP600. The easiest solution is to have it run through a rad like a 120 or 140mm at the rear. I would not add a 5.0 drive to an existing loop unless it can have it's own rad or if you can't have it be the last thing the coolant cools in the loop. I was going to use it with my new MP700 1TB but the MB heatsink is more than capable.

It's not a nightmare unless you have something like a m.2 slot on the back of the motherboard or on a PCIE expansion slot, or you are dumb enough to get AIO water blocks instead of building your own loops. Watercooling isn't something you should treat as a toy.

I had it in my loop and only connected it to the GPU. It increased ambient temps by about 3 C and if you have it as a C drive the small amount of fluid that block holds will be overwhelmed and not perform as the one in the review when doing Windows things. A 5.0 drive is about 10-15 C warmer in every task vs a 4.0, that is real heat that must be accounted for.
